The staff is top tier. The doctors and vet techs are kind and knowledgeable. My Chihuahua mix is a handful. He doesn't make it easy for them. However with patience, every visit there is improvement. Additionally, they make it really easy to get medical records when I need to board him at priority boarding. I am so grateful for how well they treat my fur baby.
VCA West has the kindest and most caring people in the metro Indy area! Dr. Haas, Randee, and Carrie are so patient and understanding with our fearful dog. Laurie at the front desk is very kind to our second dog, who would stick around all day for pets and treats if she could. The friendly atmosphere in this clinic is the best and I always get clear advice and explanations. Every visit to VCA West is a good one and I am thankful for the great healthcare my dogs receive.
I brought my cat, Peppermint, here and was amazed at the care and treatment we received. We were concerned for his ears and itching. The staff are very caring, friendly, and knowledgeable. They confirmed he doesn't have ear mites and told us he may have allergies and gave him an allergy shot. It's already helped so much, he is itching less and his ears look so much better. The best thing of all though is how calm he was while in their care. My cat is very shy and they were able to put him at ease immediately! They instantly became our preferred vet for Peppermint and I would absolutely recommend this vet to anyone with fur babies!
We take our 2 dogs and 2 cats here for everything. The staff is great and all of them are great with our 2 that HATE the vet. Their techs have let us come in with out an appointment and just hang out with our pup feeding her treats. She now will actually walk in, get weighed and get in a room without freaking out. They always meet us at the door ready to get her into a room ASAP to limit her stress. Rey and Rogue say THANK YOU!
Five stars to the VCA West 86th St. Animal Hospital Staff and groomer! Our girls, Princess and Raney had a Spa Day recently. They always come home with very soft and shiny coats and this time their long nails were trimmed to the perfect short length - the best ever! Thank you team!
This office has been nothing but professional and caring for my cat. They have continuously gone above and beyond to give him the care he needs and the reassurance I need to know he’s getting the best treatment possible. One of the staff, Jordan, even canceled her own pets nail appointment just so my cat could be seen sooner. 10/10 recommend this vet to others!
VCA was my go-to. Prices and red-tape are why I'm leaving. In WA state, VCA was always great. They treated all of our fur babies like their own. I moved to Indy last year and have just been disappointed over and over again with this location. The techs and receptionists at this location are friendly. That's why I'll give it 2 stars. There seems to be a lack of trust in the pet owner though. VCA has a constant "need" for appointments or follow ups for things the pet owner can communicate or complete from home. My cat had a dirty ear. They gave her some eardrops, and it cleared up. A few months later the ear was bothering her again. I tried to order them on Chewy, because they're $70. VCA denied the RX. They denied it because it had been 4 months, which is apparently too much time since the initial in person visit. VCA wouldn't approve the Rx unless I spent the money and time to bring my cat in for another exam with them (not to mention the stress it even puts on the cat). I asked for an exception, because *the economy* and was denied. They'd rather have my cat suffer and not get the meds she needs, and instead hold the meds hostage behind red tape and money. They also asked me to bring my pet all the way in to weigh her before approving her Flea/tick meds through Chewy as well. Luckily they trusted the weight I gave them over the phone, but just to even ask people to spend the gas, money, and time to come in just to weigh the cat? C'mon. I weighed her before I ordered.... I was really hoping to like VCA here. I had nothing but good experiences back in WA state. Unfortunately, VCA just seems to only care about the money now. We will not be returning.
