VCA Animal Hospitals Urgent Care - College Park

We had such a wonderful experience at VCA Animal Hospital Urgent Care – College Park and I can’t recommend them enough. We brought our husky in for a flesh wound, and from the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely cared for. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the vet tech Courtney, she immediately walked us into a appointment room, got us checked in and offered us drinks & snacks that were available in the waiting area. Dr. Edward’s and Courtney were both incredibly kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Dr. Edwards was especially outstanding, he clearly explained all of our treatment options, answered every single question we had, and made sure we felt included in deciding the best next steps for our dog. It meant so much to be part of the decision making process and to fully understand what was going on. The entire process was very efficient and smooth, we are so relieved that we didn’t have to sit for hours like you often do at emergency vet clinics. Our pup received prompt, attentive care, and we left feeling confident in the treatment plan and are so grateful for their compassion. If you’re ever in need of urgent care for your pet, this is absolutely the place to go. Thank you for taking such great care of our husky!

Dr. Edward’s was amazing! he explained the many possibilities of what could be wrong with our cat and what treatment plan she would need to help make her feel better. I’m so thankful they were able to get us in so fast. thank you!!

After my 13 year old dog was in the end stages of his life it was recommended we go here. I was out of town in North Carolina, and my mom FaceTimed me during his care. Dr. Edwards was truly amazing. He was kind and compassionate but was realistic about our options without making me feel any guilt. Dianna was incredibly sweet. They both gave me time to make decisions and let son and I say our goodbyes. We appreciate all you did for our sweet Buddy.

Excellent staff, kind and knowledgeable. Very little wait time. Clean place with a mini-drink-station. Dr. diagnosed a problem my regular vet missed. But, only 4 starts because it was SOO expensive. $149 for the office visit fee, not bad for an ER visit. But, OMG $385 to run a basic blood panel to see if she was healthy enough for the meds, which of course, she was.

Text wait times were accurate. They were waiting for us at the door to quickly assess my little guy. He is nearly 17 and took a tumble down the stairs. The room was clean. They were attentive. Super kind, even offered me a drink or snack while we waited. Clipped a mat out for us. My little guy was checked out quickly and I appreciated the care for my very important little old man very much!

Great visit. Calm Ambiance to keep my pet calm. Clean. Patient staff for my dog that is fearful. Was able to use my Care Club Membership. Only thing the wait times listed in the virtual waiting room is inaccurate. But I got right in after they called me; although the virtual waiting room said it would be another hour.

We DO NOT recommend this facility for end-of-life care. On December 6th, we brought our beloved cat, Mia, here for euthanasia, hoping for a gentle end to her long illness. We were promised she would be brought back to us for a peaceful goodbye. Instead, she was kept in the back for over 30 agonizing minutes while we sat in a silent room, helpless and imagining her distress. We got one update at about 10 minutes that her veins were hard to find for catheter placement and heard nothing else until we stood with the door to our room open for information. They then suggested an alternative, reportedly more painful method that would mean we could not be with her at the end. The thought of her passing alone, after all she meant to us, was unthinkable. We declined, our hearts breaking. When Mia was finally returned, the sight of her, bandages on all four of her legs and her tail, will haunt us forever. It was a visceral shock. We had entrusted them with her comfort, and this was the result. We left immediately, cradling her, to find true compassion elsewhere. Our next veterinary choice was heartbroken to see her condition. They gently removed the bandages, revealing swollen, red, and slightly bloodied limbs from what they noted were numerous high, improper attempts. With skilled and steady hands, they were able to insert the catheter after ONE attempt, finally giving Mia the peaceful passing she deserved. This experience did not just add trauma; it betrayed our trust and compounded our grief on the hardest day of our lives. We share this not out of malice, but with a heavy heart, hoping to spare other pet parents this profound anguish in their most vulnerable moment.
