First visit here with my two dogs recently as we are new to the area. I had a great experience from start to finish. They took great care of my two labradors and the price was very fair! The people that worked at front desk, the vet tech, and the Dr. were all very professional and kind!
I've been using AAVH for our cats since shortly after moving to Troy in 2010. They have always been very thorough, compassionate, and willing to work with us on the treatment of our cats as they enter their senior years. But this week, I was completely astounded by their care for both me and my cat. On my way to visit them for my cat's monthly injection, I was rear-ended about 1/2 block away. My cat managed to escape his carrier, so he was loose and traumatized and didn't even want ME near him. I called, hoping that I could get some gloves or maybe they could come with a sedative. Dr. Birley and two techs arrived with equipment, got him into a new crate, took him back to the office, relaxed him, checked for injuries, and cleaned him up. Sydney even offered to drop him off at the house if I couldn't make it to them by closing. They eased the burden of a terrible experience, and the care they showed both of us still brings tears to my eyes.
Love this office. We've been bringing our dogs here for the past few years and have always had a great experience. The front of house staff is friendly and helpful. The technicians are gentle and kind to our two dogs. The doctors are thorough and conservative in their care and accurate in their diagnoses. Thank you!
I have been coming here for many years. Everyone that works here is so kind and they are so good with my dogs. The warmth and kindness and compassion shown here is unmatched!
Literally the sweetest humans ever 😭💛 They treat every animal like their own family! Our doggo Gryffindor just had a teeth cleaning and extraction and they took amazing care of him and even called the next day to check on him 🥹Like… who does that anymore?! We love them so much. We recommend them to all our friends and fam.
I am not one to leave bad reviews unless I feel it's warranted. If I could give this practice zero stars I would. I first started coming to them about a year ago, and was told that their policy requires a card to remain on file and that if you miss appts your card will be charged. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I received a letter in the mail stating I was dismissed from the practice. I was shocked to receive this letter in the mail with absolutely no prior notices or warnings etc. I had made 3 technician appts- not vet appts and had missed them due to a family emergency. The first appt they rescheduled and I called to reschedule- so technically not missed. Then I missed two tech appts due to a family emergency. I am my mothers primary caregiver who is in Hopsice. The front desk staff- Jennifer claimed they sent reminders ie: calls emails. I expressed that I had NEVER received any reminders and she immediately had an attitude and argued that they did in fact send reminders out. I then proceeded to provide call log proof emails showing I have nothing from them. (Although it's my responsibility to make my appts) don't tell your patients you sent out reminders, when you in fact did NOT. I explained my situation to Dr Overla regarding my situation with my family emergency because "life happens" she did not care. I then proceeded to ask about their policy regarding charging my card for missed appts. And expressed I was never informed of any policy about being dismissed for missing any appointments. I tried explaining what emergency occurred with my mother that caused me to miss the appointment and she hung up the phone on me. Don't tell your patients that you have a card on file policy and then not adhere to your own policy. Policies should always be clear to new patients and current. Dismissal was not part of that. I find this to be unprofessional and the front desk staff Jennifer to be very rude and not empathetic at all (I've seen similar reviews like this listed)
I was dismissed from this practice. Their lack of communication and lack of professionalism is honestly very upsetting, especially given the location. I grew up here and this has by far been one of the worst experiences with any local business I had missed a few vet tech appts due to a family emergency which was clearly explained to the clinic and the dr herself. They did not care in the least. They said "it's protocol," but when I first started coming to them they told be verbatim "protocol is leaving a card on file, if you miss any appts we will charge your card for the appt" So why would a practice express a protocol and then not follow that said protocol? If I miss an appt and my card gets charged, so be it! At least I knew this protocol existed, but instead was told something entirely different. The front desk tried telling me they made courtesy contact attempts numerous times and when I told them I never received calls or emails, they (Jennifer) said "ma'am, we called you, I'm not going to argue with you" Fast forward to a few weeks later- the clinic sent out an email apologizing to those whom are T-Mobile carriers because they have had issues contacting people with mobile. Imagine that!! I'm a t-mobile carrier. Imagine dismissing a prior client, and not removing them from your system after numerous discussions, (hardly 2-3 weeks) to send you this email about their issues with T-Mobile. I even offered to provide proof that I never received any emails or calls- they didn't care.
