Marina Pet Hospital

📍 Cat veterinarians in San Francisco

4.6

Address, a cat veterinarian clinic in the United States, offers a mixed experience for pet owners. While some staff members are known for their friendly demeanor and willingness to assist, concerns have been raised about transparency in pricing and consistency in care. The clinic’s approach to scheduling and service explanations varies, which may impact overall satisfaction.

Pet owners should carefully review estimates and service details to ensure clarity. Though certain veterinarians provide attentive and informative consultations, the clinic’s practices may not align with every client’s expectations. Exploring alternative options could be beneficial for those seeking a more predictable experience.

Fabricating laws to upsell, deceptive business practices, bait and switch estimates. I booked for 1 set of xrays, then after waiting 4 days for the appt, they refused to take the xrays without adding on 2 more sets and 3x'ing the cost. They then lied about having to sedate my dog under CA law to do the xrays (no such law exists) - an additional charge. They hide behind "drop off appointments" to save their time and maximize the amount of people they can pull this kind of crap on. Run, don't walk elsewhere. Small family vets in the East Bay won't pull this nonsense on you.

I’ve heard from multiple people that the care here is inconsistent, unreliable, and not thorough. It might depend on the physician, but beware. But, the non-physician staff are nice.

4 visits in the last 2 weeks with new puppy. Front desk staff has been very friendly and helpful. I went in to get flea/tick medicine and they offered to give it to Dusty so I wouldn't have to be the "bad guy". Dr. Melcon is good with our baby girl as well as with us. She takes time to explain things and lets us know when and what we need to do next. The new puppy decision was made fairly quickly and I feel very lucky to have found Marina Pet Hospital.

The veterinarian and the staff members of Marina Pet Hospital in San Francisco California are excellent. They were able to schedule my little chihuahua for an appointment and fit him into their schedule. It was so helpful. They were all so calm, caring, relaxed, comfortable with us. Little Casey was at ease and well cared for. The office is convenient and comfortable. The exam rooms are clean and well appointed. Great website and excellent online access and communication technologies.

We have lived in SF for 34 years, always with 1-2 dogs at home. I have full confidence in all the vets here but rely on Dr. Melcon's wisdom and experience. She has seen us through many operations and last moments with our wonderful dogs. We moved to Mill Valley about 10 years ago and tried switching vets. We had a new puppy with bladder control issues. After many visits to this new vet and no diagnosis, I returned to Dr. Melcon who immediately diagnosed our pup with a urinary tract infection. I was so grateful. We are back in SF now and so appreciative of Marina Pet Hospital. The front office staff are always welcoming and organized and very personable.

Debra Melcon at Marina Pet Hospital has been my vet for almost 40 years now. She has taken care of me and the four dogs I have had in my lifetime. She is very knowledgeable, kind, and caring. I thank her, and so do Charles, Chelsea, Chester, and Charlotte. The staff has been very helpful also.

We have been taking our companion cats to Dr. Debra Melcon at Marina Pet Hospital for over 20 years. I can't praise both Dr. Melcon and the staff enough for the great health care, friendly attitude, and most of all compassion. The health care plan has been invaluable to us over the years. My daughter and also several friends also take their companion animals to Marina Pet Hospital, and I always refer them to anyone looking for excellent care for their own companion animals.
