VEG ER for Pets

My blue heeler received amazing care here. No one wants to go to the emergency vet, but this experience was as painless as it could possibly be. The dr saw our dog within minutes of walking in and communicated a care plan quickly. They provided a quiet room for us because our dog is anxious. The nurses were knowledgeable, efficient, and comforting. My dog was admitted for the night, and they provided EVERYTHING so I could stay with her: bed, phone charger, toothbrush, coffee, snacks… I would never have expected that from an emergency vet. Not only that, but my dog received a very high quality of care, and she is now home and well. I could not be more grateful.

Wow! We are currently fostering to adopt a 9 week old puppy and she started throwing up and having diarrhea today. We were referred to Blue Pearl who ended up being full and actually referred to another place that was also full. The second place referred us here and I am so thankful. This place was amazing. The staff was excellent. Super friendly, they all really loved their jobs and caring for all of the animals that came in. Special shoutout to C who was our intake tech in the isolation unit. She was vibrant, fun, so great with our puppy and just kicked off the whole experience on a positive note. Our Doctor, Dr. Morgan was also really exceptional. Very kind. Throughly walked us through what might be going on and what steps would be taken. Do not get me wrong, this was an emergency vet, we spent about 3.5 hours here, but we were constantly asked if we wanted any water, coffee or anything. That was really thoughtful of them. This will be our 1st stop moving forward in case an emergency comes up again with our babies. I can’t say enough positive things.

I can't say enough great things about this place! From the care of my pet and the care of myself, this place goes above and beyond. I joke with my friends and family that I didn't get this care when my mom was in the hospital! They saved Wrigleys life and made sure I understood every step and procedure. I was able to come and go as I pleased and felt good knowing he was in good hands. Between the hearts he stole and the hand holding he did, along with the size of tumor removed from his belly, I'm sure he won't be forgotten by the incredible vets and techs that cared for him.

I called another emergency vet for advice prior to calling VEG. The other vet’s call was about a minute long, only spoke to the receptionist, and was told to bring her in immediately. When I called VEG, I was connected immediately with Dr. Morgan. We devised a home plan of action to try first. While that course of action didn’t work out, I drove the 30 minutes to VEG, despite other ERs being closer. Once there, Dr. Baxter was very clear from the beginning about this possible being an end of life situation. We tried some IV interventions that weren’t working. He explained why it likely wasn’t working and was clear he could try more lifesaving interventions but cost was factor for me. He was clear in explaining he’s happy to do those higher level interventions but didn’t feel they would prove successful anyway. We made the very difficult decision to end my fur baby’s suffering. The end of life experience was private, ran at my pace, and everyone was so caring and attentive. The nursing staff was attentive and caring and Dr. Baxter showed compassion and emotion throughout the process. Do not go to any other vet ER! Highly recommend even though it was a tragic situation.

We had a terrifying scare with our 9 year old Lab and rushed him in on a Sunday afternoon. Immediately upon entering, we were greeted and quickly attended by extremely professional receptionists. I loved that they created a low stress environment for pets with an "open" treatment space. I wish I could remember every single person’s name because everyone was BEYOND caring and professional. They had a full house yet treated every pet and family with kindness, empathy, and patience. We were offered beverages and both of our pets (we brought in our other baby to not have to leave him home alone) received so much love and attention during our visit. Dr. Mike was great. He put every medical term into easy to understand language and answered all of our questions. I appreciated the transparency with costs upfront. The entire staff made a stressful day feel hopeful and communicated every step of the process. Cannot recommend this facility enough.

The care and attention that the staff fave was amazing. I had to leaveChiChi for 48 hours and was sent update photos in addition to getting calls from the doctors on staff. Watching the entire staff work as a team, have fun with each other and the pets while also managing a busy and difficult Saturday night warmed my heart. I hope I never need their services again, but I highly recommend them to anyone in need of emergency pet care.

They really took the time to help and made me feel comfortable during a stressful situation. I truly appreciate the compassion and professionalism they showed.
