Banfield Pet Hospital

This location has gone from 3 vets to 1 seriously adding to wait time. I couldnt get my dog spayed and had to go elsewhere. We have the plan and it is such a money scam. Tried to cancel and they say we haven’t paid for the services provided. I fault the company not necessarily this specific location or it’s remaining vet but it has become a basically unusable service that they continue to make me pay for.

I used Banfield in Kennewick for many years. I loved paying a monthly amount and having all three doggos taken care of entirely. My huskies loved the staff and were often more willing to go into Banfield than the groomers! Great care and great payment system; what more could you ask for. I did leave Banfield entirely for one reason. One of my dogs has anxiety. He is an 80lb husky and gets very anxious if a human nearby is scared. He had loved Banfield in Kennewick for years. They knew that if he became anxious, to just skip whatever procedure he was getting and just call me. One day, not only did I not get called, but when I arrived to find my dog terrified, I was informed that he was muzzled for safety. I thought the worst and immediately asked if he had bit someone. Apparently no, he never even attempted to bite. He was scared and tried to run away so he was muzzled because "company policy says his breed is dangerous and should be muzzled". After being muzzled, he was pinned down to have his nails cut. It has been two years since the incident and he is still terrified every time I cut his nails. All that trauma just to cut his nails; instead of calling me like I had written in his file. I won’t even go back.

Three of our cats ended up with heart Murmurs and they refused to see them. We canceled their plan and went in for paperwork and treated like we were bad people. Never will I take an animal there again! VCA Vineyard has treated us with the MOST respect if you’re looking for somewhere new! Canceling your plan is a pain in the you know what! So be very aware! My last visit was close to an hour just to ask for paperwork, the bleach blonde receptionist was argumentative and unempathetic.

They are amazing clinic. And took very good care of my dog. And have a great affordable plan.

My cat had an emergency with diarrhea and vomiting but I couldn't afford the expensive services emergency hospitals had. So I made an appointment here because it was only a couple days away and everywhere else was booked out two weeks plus. I kept him hydrated in the meantime and he is getting much better but Banfield cancelled my appointment without letting me know because they thought by the symptoms I described I should just take him to emergency even though I explained I couldn't afford 1000 dollars just for exams at emergency. They didn't tell me on the phone or email me about the cancellation and caused me to miss a shift in work and stress my cat out with driving back and forth.

My first experience with Banfield was very positive but my recent experiences left me frustrated and unwilling to go back. I went in for routine shots, flee/tick, and heartworm medicine. They didn't do the test for the heart worm medicine despite having her all day. Followup visits were excessively expensive. I didn't appreciate the receptionists reply when I expressed the price was exorbitant. I won't be coming back.
