Do NOT take your pets here. We felt like we were being pressured to either pay thousands we don’t have or euthanize our dog, and threatened with animal control when we said no. They kept changing the price and made everything confusing on purpose. Our dog is still alive and doing better at home — they just wanted money. I understand that everyone has their own experiences with Civano Animal Hospital. We had a great experience with them in the past, but this time was absolutely terrible and horrific. It involved my two innocent children and our dog. I was so exhausted, terrified, and overwhelmed, and my children were crying. I can only imagine how my children felt, when the doctor kept saying that she wouldn’t make the drive home, and the kind thing to do for her would be to euthanize her. If I had been a bit more overwhelmed or less stubborn, our Winnie Pie would be gone now. That’s not medicine; it’s pressure. Just be cautious and ask for more information. Request details about the cost and don’t let anyone bully or threaten you into doing something you’ll regret. There are always other options. Never rush into something you don’t want to do

Dr. Hamilton and staff were so kind. We had to put our sweet 16 year old cat to sleep following a sharp decline with his leukemia diagnosis. Dr. Hamilton was informative, and was very including of each member of the family in the room. She made sure each of us understood what was going on. I’m glad that Dr. Hamilton was there to support us and bring our Petey boy to comfort

Had to take our puppy in because she got stung or bit by something. They were very compassionate with her and us. Luckily it was just a sting. They even called the next day to see how she was doing. We live in Whetsone and had to drive up at 10:30 at night. So happy they could see her and were open.

Although my Hondo did not make the trip to get treated here, when I arrived they put me in a room alone with my best friend. They took care of me in my time of grief. I cannot thank the staff enough for the compassion they showed to us. Thank you to all the staff that cared for me in my time of need. I did not receive any services due to Hondo passing before we arrived. That did not matter to them. They took me in and I appreciate the staff. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Our dog Gracie was bitten by a rattlesnake. We took her to VCA and were very pleased with her care. She made a full recovery within 24 hrs after starting her rattlesnake anti-venom treatment. Gracie received two doses. The difference between her arrival and her pickup the following day was like night and day. The swelling went down dramatically. We are very appreciative of the care Gracie received and thankfully she made a full recovery. We will use VCA again should she be bitten again. Thank you to VCA and the entire staff who were involved in her care.

Civano Animal Hospital is absolutely exceptional, and we truly credit them with keeping our 15-year-old dog and our male cat with chronic urinary blockage issues here with us. We cannot say enough good things about Dr. Lindsay Juhl and the entire Civano team. Dr. Juhl is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough, and she consistently goes above and beyond for her patients. The Civano staff is equally outstanding; empathetic, patient, and attentive, and they make you feel like more than just a client by remembering both you and your pets by name. Dr. Juhl quite literally saved both Brisket and Stirrup when other veterinary clinics had no clear course of treatment. Brisket has chronic kidney and liver disease and has suffered a stroke, yet Dr. Juhl has managed her care with exceptional skill and compassion. Stirrup has complex, ongoing medical needs, and her dedication, persistence, and expertise have made all the difference in his longevity. She takes the time to explain every option, listens carefully, and makes thoughtful, well-informed decisions that are always in the animal’s best interest. She is also consistently up to date on the latest veterinary research and ready to apply it when appropriate. We also trust Civano with our livestock guardian dogs. Our Great Pyrenees, Honey, required surgical removal of avulsed front teeth, which was handled with excellent care. Our Anatolian Shepherd, Mezcal, has a challenging case of Valley Fever affecting his hip bone, and thanks to Dr. Juhl’s management, he is comfortable, functional, and still able to work. We have also had wonderful experiences with Dr. Steinke and Dr. Solis; you truly can’t go wrong with anyone on the Civano team. The entire practice is kind, supportive, and professional, making every visit as smooth as possible. We trust Dr. Juhl completely and hold her in the highest regard. If you are looking for a veterinary clinic that genuinely cares and delivers outstanding, lifesaving care, Civano Animal Hospital is the place to go.

Our GSD Zena lost her appetite for a few days. She was doing semi ok on plain chicken and rice but wasn’t improving much. We took her on a short evening walk, which she usually loves, but she was just acting off. Her breathing became progressively worse, she threw up, and was not very responsive to us calling her name. That’s when we researched the closest animal hospital open so late at night and found VCA Civano. Although Zena’s diagnosis was sudden and fatal (right atrial rupture with pericardial effusion likely due to hemangiosarcoma), I thank God we ended up here. All of the staff were so compassionate and helpful, especially Dr. Boyle who cared for Zena. She really took time answering our many questions and comforted us as we said our final goodbye to our girl. Not once did I feel that they were doing excessive tests or procedures to get more money out of us (as I have felt at other clinics before). It was the complete opposite here. They wanted to make sure they were only doing what was necessary, especially given the bad shape Zena was in. The following morning I had changed my mind about cremating Zena, so I contacted the clinic. The cremation service had already picked her up earlier that morning. With the help of the staff & wonderful cremation service they use, we were able to get her back ❤️. The staff never once made me feel like an inconvenience. They did absolutely everything they could to make sure our wishes for her remains were fulfilled. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone at VCA Civano!
