We love Dr. Moderi. Going there for a number of years. Appreciate how thorough she is. She answers questions and thinks over concerns carefully. And she's always kind and compassionate with my somewhat rude senior girl. Plus the vet techs are efficient and professional, and the front desk staff are friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. It's so much better than the other clinic we used to go to. Wouldn't take my cat anywhere else.

It was my first time here and I didn't know what to expect [since I recently moved to Boston with my pup]. However, everyone was very kind and professional. The front desk was patient with my pup [who was a little nervous, as is the case with going to a new vet] and offered her treats to calm her down. I loved how gentle and loving Dr. English was to my pup. Luna [my pup] was a little nervous initially, but Dr. English took the extra time to play with her [belly rubs work every time..haha] and make her comfortable and then did a thorough evaluation. Unlike many places where the vet rushes you, Dr. English showed a lot of patience and took the time to ensure that all my questions about Luna were answered; so, I could leave with the peace of mind. You can see that Dr. English really cares about your pets [and animals]!! Logistics and Pricing: Booking the appointment over the phone was very convenient and when I arrived, there was no wait time. The prices for the normal vet visit and the vaccines were also very reasonable. Thank you to Dr. English and her staff for taking care of Luna! Keep up the great work!

The staff here are excellent. As you walk in you always get a warm welcome to check in. The techs and doctors are attentive to any concerns about your pet and will patiently answer any questions. I have been going to Porter Square vet for 17 years and they helped my cat and I navigate some difficult health problems. With their care and advise my cat was with us for another 5 years which is an amazing blessing. Dr. Moderi is wonderful.

I have 2 kittens who are getting the very best care at Porter Square Veterinarian. We generally see Dr. Johnson but last week Dr. Parker stepped in as Dr Johnson was in surgery. We have been taking our pets to this Veterinarian office for decades. I will not trust any other office than Porter Square Veterinarian. Dr. Johnson is a true professional, also kind and generous with time especially when my adult cat passed on last year. She was 14 and suffered a terminal illness. After a few months we adopted our 2 kittens Romeo and Juliet. They are a joy to have in our home. If you can manage 2 cats, it is a great experience to watch them grow together.

An excellent clinic with super attentive staff. Dr. Moderi hours above and beyond in taking care of cat, takes her time going over details of the exam and immunization and provides a through explanation and plan of action for any issues.

Switched vets again. Gave them a second chance. They are very incompetent! Had a hard time getting a script filled. Kept calling and nobody relayed messages to in house pharmacy. Then was informed, we will try our best to fill it. I’m sorry it’s not a luxury-fill the script! It’s was prescribed by the vet. Very unprofessional and argued over the phone about meds that were prescribed by the own vet. Additionally, misdiagnosed my dog. Was in pain from a torn ACL. they just brushed it off until we got a second opinion. Thankfully we did because he needed surgery. Can’t imagine how they cope with every day life because they can’t cope or be competent at work.

Not for vet reactive pets. Prior to this month, I was satisfied overall with Porter Square Vet despite some mild issues, primarily around communication. I don't generally publish complaints but due to the vets unwillingness to discuss their errors, I feel obligated to warn any pet owners with vet-reactive dogs. When I moved to Somerville and brought my dog to Porter Square Vet, I was transparent that my dog is vet reactive. I mentioned that he doesn't like the vet in general but that he doesn't tolerate exams. I also mentioned that I had previously used a fear free vet who was willing to do sedation for annual exams / as needed to ensure adequate care. I was told we could consider that if it proved to be necessary. At my dog's first exam with them, I was given recommendations for dental hygiene products, which i purchase and utilized. At his last exam, I specifically asked about dental cleanings, as I had noticed a good amount of plaque build up on my dogs teeth when I was brushing them. The vet looked at my dogs mouth briefly and I was told it was necessary at that time. I brought my dog in this month due to non-specific behavior changes as well as some dietary issues and worsening bad breath. The vet offered a dental cleaning/check, which I agreed to. The procedure overall went fine, but I was told my dog had significant periodontal disease and that they had removed 14 teeth which was confusing considering I was told a dental clean was not warranted just 5 months prior. Upon voicing my frustration, I was told "the vet was unable to exam his teeth due to being muzzled for the exam." My dog requires additional vet care for which I sought a different practice since Porter Square Vet was unable to develop or follow an appropriate care plan and Porter Square Vet has now opted to ignore me.
