I am celebrating the passing of my beautiful dog Lola with a heavy heart and from the core of my being I think the compassionate group at VEG who laid my dog to rest in the most compassionate and. loving way. After a horrible experience with Stewart veterinarian. Like angels, VEG Was there for my dog and I thank you from the core of my being Dr. Chenault and the rest of your amazing staff, sensitive compassionate, good people, I highly recommend VEG thank you again

I have been bringing my dog, Fennec, to see Dr. Hillebrand since the day I adopted her. Everyone on the team are incredibly friendly and extra patient with my anxious pup. In addition to the routine check-ups and wellness visit, SMPMC has been a wonderful resource when it comes to navigating training and behavioral issues I have encountered through the years. Another way SMPMC has been a major resource in my life is their team of vet techs and support staff who also offer pet sitting, walking, and additional care services. I am definitely THAT pet parent. So, when I have to leave my pup for a trip, knowing I'm leaving her with expert pet caretakers (and lovers) makes leaving her a bit easier. These relationships has also helped make our visits a bit less stressful for Fennec as well.

I’ve been bringing my dogs to Santa Monica Pet Medical for years, and I truly can’t imagine going anywhere else. Dr. George has been our trusted veterinarian through it all—he cared for my beloved dog Dodger until he passed in 2021, and now he’s looking after Apollo with that same compassion and expertise. At our most recent visit, Apollo was understandably a bit nervous at first, but the entire team—from the incredibly kind front desk staff to the gentle and attentive vet techs—helped him settle in quickly. They have a natural way with animals and treat them like their own, which makes all the difference. Within minutes, Apollo was calm and comfortable, which speaks volumes about the environment they’ve created. Dr. George is not only knowledgeable and thorough, but also incredibly kind and patient. He takes time to explain everything clearly and has always made me feel supported as a pet parent. After years of visits, I can say with confidence that Santa Monica Pet Medical is more than just a veterinary clinic—they're a trusted part of our extended family.

I used to go here until they charged me for everything except figuring out the issue with my dog’s bladder. My dog had been peeing blood for 3 weeks I went in and they wanted me to pay for everything under the sun except get to the main issue. I had to go to a different vet to figure out that he had a kidney stone the size of a tennis ball and they weren’t pressuring to spend more money. My new vet actually wanted to help my dog with his issue without all these unnecessary charges. Please do better.

Dr. Tony George was outstanding and took such good care of my dog. He was knowledgeable, caring and had a wonderful way of putting my little one with anxiety at ease. We left with everything we needed to make my little guy feel better after just one appointment.

Everyone was so welcoming and kind — it made Zorro and my first visit to the vet so easy and stress-free. Dr. Grewal and the entire staff were incredibly sweet and took the time to answer all of my questions. We felt truly cared for and comfortable from start to finish. Thank you!

I’ve been going here for the last two years for my dog. With all the routine check ups, things were fine. In the last couple months, my dog had a pretty bad cough, I did all the testing panels, which were all negative. At this point, Dr. Hillenbrand insisted that the only path forward was to do a bronchoscopy. If you don’t know, this is a $7K procedure. My hunch this whole time is that my dog just has allergies. I tried to negotiate with the vet to see if we could do any thing less invasive to treat my dog and she declined saying there was no other path forward that. She sent me on my way with a list of vet hospitals that will do the procedure and no medication or anything short-term to manage my dog symptoms. Thankfully, I got a second opinion with another vet at a different clinic and they said my dog is perfectly healthy and just has allergies. They prescribed her an inhaler and sent me on my way. I was very shocked at how pushy the vet was here at Santa Monica Pet Medical Center, refusing to explore alternative treatments and only recommending a very invasive expensive and unnecessary procedure for my dog. I do not recommend coming here. Also compared to the new vet, routine appointments are more expensive here too.
