We were so thankful to find Dr. Lim again after she left her previous clinic. Our senior dog, Mook, was diagnosed with severe kidney disease in March 2024. Another vet even suggested putting him down, but thanks to Dr. Lim’s compassionate and careful care — always gentle and cautious due to his kidney and heart conditions — he’s still doing well. We recently celebrated his second birthday since the diagnosis, which felt like a true gift. These days, we mainly visit for acupuncture. After each session, his stiff walk becomes more relaxed, and he seems noticeably more comfortable and active — plus he loves the special treat Dr. Lim gives him! The entire team at Palms & Paws Veterinary Center is incredibly caring and attentive, and we always feel genuinely supported every time we visit. We’re so grateful for every moment we still have with Mook💖

ive been to a lot of vets over the years and Palms and Paws is the best ive ever had the pleasure of taking my fur kids to. Not only are the doctors skilled vets but they are generous with their time which is very rare to find and deeply appreciated by me. I genuinely feel they not only care about the well being of my fur babies but they also care about me and my stress around the well being of my babies! They go out of their way to make sure we are both well taken care of and feeling as confident and calm as we can about what is happening. The support staff are lovely and very caring. Dr Izzy is awesome and i am so grateful to work with her and the whole team to make sure my fur kids are happy and healthy. Its also a calming, clean and lovely atmosphere. Thanks everyone ! We followed Dr McEvilly to Palms and Paws when it first opened, and were indebted to him and his staff for the compassion and expert care they gave our cat. I want to call out how exceptional he was in explaining everything to our pre-teen kids when we had to say goodbye to her at 21 years. It’s been almost two years, but we returned today with two new 4 legged family members. We were welcomed with hugs and warmth, and the same care and compassion. I cannot recommend Dr McEvilly enough.

Best vet I’ve EVER been to!!! So comprehensive, transparent, and kind. Every single vet who is part of this group is gifted and awesome. The front desk is so friendly and empathetic. I really appreciate how they usually give you 2-3 treatment plan options and map out the pricing, pros & cons of each one. They’ll let you know which one is really going above and beyond for your pet, but don’t try to pursued you for the non-essentials of your animals health. It’s easy to trust them. We’ve taken our dogs here for a few years and they super organized for annual visits and incredibly present & grounded in health emergencies too.

Palms and Paws are honestly the best. Dr. Kevin is a literal godsend—he’s so thoughtful, thorough, and I trust him completely with my Calvin. I also want to shout out Dr. Megan McGonagle, who I saw this weekend. She was amazing—so sweet, easy to talk to, and just really on top of everything. She took such good care of Calvin and made the whole experience feel way less stressful. You can tell she genuinely cares, which goes a long way. They really have such a strong team, and Dr. McGonagle is such a great addition.

Palms & Paws provided exceptional care during an incredibly difficult experience. I was new to LA without an established vet when my cat suddenly became very sick, and their team met us with compassion and professionalism from the start. Dr. K was thoughtful and thorough in diagnosing Gizmo’s kidney disease and consistently checked in with a calm, reassuring presence. Their team even checked up on us over the weekend, while he was declining rapidly, and talked me through getting him care at an ER vet. When it came time for the difficult conversation about saying goodbye, Dr. McEvilly handled it with honesty and empathy. On the day we said goodbye, Dr. K, Maggie, and the vet techs were incredibly kind and comforting. I’m deeply grateful for the care they showed both Gizmo and me. When I’m ready to welcome another kitty into my life, I’ll absolutely be returning to Palms & Paws.

I’ve been bringing my dog to Palms & Paws since 2023. Their consistency and quality of care keeps me coming back for nail trims, annual exams, vaccines, complex concerns, and surgical procedures. Dr. McKevilly is thoughtful, thorough, and genuinely invested in my dog’s long-term health, and provides individualized food, treat, and/or treatment recommendations based on my dog's life stage, activity level, symptoms, and occasional hunger strike. My dog can be selectively reactive, and Dr. McKevilly consistently prioritizes his comfort by adjusting how and where procedures are done (e.g., in a private patient room and with me present, rather than main exam room in the back), and even rescheduling rather than pushing through high-stress appointments. Palms & Paws' level of awareness, patience, and flexibility with anxious dogs really sets them apart. At Palms & Paws I've always felt fully informed, genuinely supported to choose what feels best as the owner, and never pressured into decisions. A recent example of this: in March 2026, while my dog was receiving his first dental cleaning, Dr. McKevilly personally called me mid-procedure to evaluate whether to remove his rear dewclaws at the same time (something we've discussed regularly since 2023 and extensively assessed in the weeks leading to the dental cleaning). After walking through the additional procedure step-by-step and weighing all the pros/cons of such, we determined the safest and most efficient option would be to proceed with the dewclaw removal during the dental cleaning, ultimately avoiding a second procedure with anesthesia later on or under emergency circumstances. Recovery was smooth, and the level of follow-up during healing was incredible. Palms & Paws' follow-up care is excellent, I often hear from Dr. McKevilly the same or next day after visits, and they stay engaged daily during more complex recoveries. Highly recommend Dr. McKevilly at Palms & Paws for anyone looking for a vet who is communicative, patient, and truly cares about both the pet and the owner. I will continue to recommend Palms & Paws to family members, friends, and colleagues with different pets and will trust them with any animal I have in the future.
