Shelter Veterinary is the new location for Dr Gary Adams DVM. I was very pleased to find Dr Adams has moved over here. His new place has all the modern equipment to take care of my pets.

I don’t understand why the simplest surgery became a problem. I’ve heard a dog in the same room as my cat at the clinic. When I came home, he was bleeding. I called the clinic immediately, but they said everything was fine. After a week, he still needs to wear the special collar because of the redness. I would never go there if I knew!

Don't take any animal to this Vet. Gary Adams DVM previously had his licensed suspended and was on probation for 5 years. I would have NEVER used him if he had disclosed that the CA Attorney General had taken his license. He hurt my dog for years. It was only when she ended up in the ER that I realized that he had misdiagnosed her, was lazy (rather refer to specialists his solution was antibiotics), and was still guilty of the same behavior that had caused him to lose his license. I won the Small Claim and Appeal against him.

I called to request a quote for a number or procedures that are required by an inpatient hospital my cat would have to be admitted to for treatment. This clinic refused to give me a quote for service as a non-existing customer because "it depends on what the doctor would want to order". I tried to explain that I would only need a price quote of the various procedures and they refused because apparently it just depends on what the doc wants to charge. Super unhelpful, I wasn't asking for anything difficult - just a general price quote- and the manager wouldn't let me speak to the vet directly.

Doctor Adams is an amazingly talented surgeon and is a great guy. He speaks to you and communicates in such a nice manner. He loves dogs and did a perfect surgery on my dog. I would trust him to operate on me even. Prices here are reasonable and I have only good things to say. This is the best vet on the westside.

Had a great experience bringing our lab here to be treated for an ear infection. Dr Adams is amazing with animals. As he examined our dog, he spoke to us like human beings. We discussed flea season and he humbly suggested flea medication but he was not pushy about it at all. He sent us home with antibiotics without trying to sell us more than we needed and our dog is doing great now. We appreciate the professionalism and down-to-earth staff.

FYI: We arrived for our scheduled appointment today only to find a sign indicating that the office is permanently closed. We called the number listed for a different vet as indicated on the sign, but they had no record of our appointment and were unable to assist us. What’s especially frustrating is that this appointment was made just a few days ago, and we received multiple reminders via email and text as recently as 48 hours ago. Fortunately, our visit was only for routine vaccines, but I can only imagine the stress if we were dealing with a more pressing health issue.
