The Vets - At-Home Pet Care in Sacramento

Apparently The Vets "abruptly ceased operations" on July 21st, 2025. We had used them in their Tampa Florida for a few years, and had an appointment (confirmed multiple times by their automated system) on July 29th, 2025, and no one showed up. After being so aggressive about confirming the appointment (and threatening "Cancellations made less than 24 hours before an appointment will be subject to a $99 fee per pet. If you do not show up for your appointment, a $199 travel fee plus $99 per pet will be charged" in their confirmation email), they didn't even bother to cancel the appointment or call to let us know. They just closed up shop and stopped answering their phones, and we sat here all day with a 5 hour (12p to 5p) appoinment window, only to get stood up. VERY unprofessional and disappointing!

I scheduled an appointment with The Vets and had an awful experience start to finish. The website promised a $135 first visit discount which the provider subsequently did not include. When contacted, customer service acknowledged their mistake and promised it would be resolved shortly, then proceeded to waste my time for months without any refund. Eventually they stopped responding entirely and never refunded my money. On top of that, the vet service itself was among the worst I have experienced. They did not even attempt to weigh him and just asked me what I thought for his health chart, mislabeled him as not microchipped when they didn’t even ask me, did nothing and said nothing about the health concerns I raised, and then proceeded to never follow up about the anti anxiety medication prescription they spoke to me about, even though I sent texts after to check. An absolute embarrassment of a company, and I would never use them or recommend them in my life.

I’ve been happy with them in the past but they abruptly went out of business and stopped answering messages. They were just here seeing my cat, and I paid for lab tests, the results of which they never communicated. So, that’s money down the drain and now I need to find another vet.

If you want to just throw money away on your pet and don't care if the reason for calling them is ever addressed, this is the place for you! I just needed a couple of common prescriptions for my dog, one being Nexguard. The vet first said she could write a prescription for one month, but would need hundreds and hundreds of dollars of tests if I wanted more than that. All their prices were 3 1/2 times what my last vet charged. In the end, she didn't even fullfill her promise for a one month's supply. I got absolutely nothing for the fees they charge just to show up. I feel completely robbed, and there is no one who picks up the phone at their "customer service..." Their "F" rating at the BBB has been well earned!

If I could give them -5 stars I would. Worst care ever. They don't respond and don't really care about your furbaby!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I SPENT OVER $1,000 ON BLOODWORK FOR MY 16 YEAR OLD CAT'S HYPERTHYROIDISM AND THEY ALL OF A SUDDEN REFUSED TO CONTINUE TO FIND THE CORRECT DOSAGE FOR HER. I CONTACTED SUPPORT 9 DAYS AGO AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE.

Very prompt, friendly, knowledgeable staff that came out. This was a 10 star experience!! I recommend this team, without a doubt. These wonderful folks are the only ones that will treat my baby!!
