South Sacramento Pet hospital is a good place to bring your fur babies to. They are Acredited and they love and care for the animals and you can tell they are sincere and passionate about their jobs. They have puppy packages and different deals for pricing options and are a good place to take your pet(s).
I My first time here and it was clean and welcomed. Did paperwork online. The wait was longer than thought with appt., but no problem. My visit was wellness check for rescue dog i adopted. Went pretty well, vet seemed nice and her assistant was very good with my dog. I was happy overall. I would recommend them.
We just moved here and needed our dog's annual check up and shots. Making an appointment was easy. When we arrived they were wonderful. The techs were so nice and helpful. Dr. Jerge was very patient with my dogs during the exam. We weren't able to get our pet records from our other vet so they helped us through the process of ensuring our dogs had what they needed. The welcome deal was a good deal on the first exam, and the extra costs were expected as all vets charge this way. Thank you for making a stressful situation not so stressful. Blade, Aluna, and family.
Absolutely unacceptable. The "$25 first exam" is a bait-and-switch. You get lured in with the promo, then the add-ons start piling up immediately. The pricing is not transparent, and the final bill looks nothing like the advertised offer. It feels predatory. But the worst part wasn’t even the money — it was the care. The veterinarian barely examined my cat. I was told she was "too difficult" for a simple abdominal palpation because she was hissing. Yet somehow she was perfectly manageable when it came time to restrain her and insert a thermometer rectally. So she’s too reactive for a basic hands-on belly check, but not too reactive for invasive procedures? That makes zero sense. If a vet cannot handle a mildly stressed cat for a basic physical exam, that is deeply concerning. Cats hiss. That is normal. That is literally part of the job. The entire visit felt rushed, transactional, and dismissive. No patience. No effort to properly assess her. Just upsells and minimal interaction. When you take your pet to a vet, you’re trusting them with a family member. What I experienced here was not care, it was a sales funnel. Pet owners deserve transparency, competence, and actual veterinary examination. I would not return.
I brought my cat in due to some ear issues & fur balls/matting. They were very gentle & fast with her, which i appreciated. They helped make sure we payed a reasonable amount after explaining our financial situation, & gave us lots of tips & solutions to make grooming her easier. The Dr (i cant find his name sorry) did a great job of answering any questions we had throughly.
I was once impressed with this place but after years of being a ‘client’ im left disgusted with how they conduct business. You can never call them, they promise things they don’t intend on doing and they aren’t proactive with their patients. Overall they’re just not the type of veterinarian I feel safe overviewing the health of my pet.
I was hoping that this would be my new Vet for my cat, but the experience I've had doesn't give me confidence to go back so I will be looking elsewhere. It was convenient to make an appointment online but that was where the convenience ended. I took my cat in for an intake as well as some bloodwork. I was "forgotten about" in a waiting room for about 45 minutes, which they apologized for and compensated by giving me one of the services for free, which I appreciated. It goes downhill again though - they gave me a prescription at the visit and spelled my name wrong. When I asked if it would be a problem, the front desk just said to email them if it is and they would send a new one (why not just fix it then...not professional) but whatever, I just wanted to get out of there. After playing phone tag with the doctor to get the results of her tests, I did appreciate the doctor's break down of the results. She prescribed two new things, for which I never received the prescriptions. After another phonecall confirming my email address with them to get the prescriptions, I also asked for a copy of the lab results. I have not received either. This lack of follow up and professionalism has left a bad taste in my mouth and degrades the trust I had in this particular vet.
