I brought my dog, Angie, to get assessed by the doctor and she did a thorough exam and decided my dog needed some antibiotics. I was so relieved that it wasn’t more serious. I must say, the cost was absolutely reasonable!! The entire staff was friendly and professional. I would refer anyone’s pet (loved ones) to the care of this facility! I will certainly go back if ever needed. (I rate them with 10 stars!)

Although the outcome of our visit today was totally devastating, I would highly recommend Carolina Veterinary Specialist of Rock Hill for an emergency vet. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a welcoming front desk receptionist who immediately brought Dr. Brittany Donahue out to the reception area to evaluate our dog. She immediately took him back to an exam room. Dr. Donahue kept us updated as to the necessary testing and when the time came to discuss the results, she took us back to a private room and discussed the devastating results. Dr. Donahue was very compassionate and gave us time to spend with Rico prior to us saying goodbye. Although this was not what any of us expected we would be going through today, knowing that Dr. Donahue was so gentle with Rico, made it a little easier to get through it. Sincerely, The Jett Family

I received a text that my mom’s cat of 12 years, Sweet Pea, wasn’t doing well. When I arrived and saw her condition, I knew it was very serious. My wife and I called Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Rock Hill on our way there to explain the situation. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately, and within 30 seconds, Maria, the emergency technician, was at the front desk to take her for triage. Maria was incredibly compassionate, honest, and professional. She explained that Sweet Pea’s body was shutting down and that treatment might or might not help, but she was upfront about all the possibilities. She presented our options clearly and respectfully, without overwhelming us—just the facts, delivered with empathy. We made the heartbreaking decision to let Sweet Pea go, choosing comfort and dignity over uncertain treatment. Throughout the entire process, Maria was beyond kind and supportive. Afterward, she took a paw print, a nose print, a few whiskers, and a small lock of Sweet Pea’s fur, and placed them on a beautiful card with a handwritten note that my mom will cherish forever. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the entire team—and especially to Maria—who showed such compassion and care for Sweet Pea and for us. They treated Sweet Pea with the respect and gentleness she deserved, and made an incredibly difficult experience a little easier to bear.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I want to sincerely thank the staff at Carolina Veterinary Specialists for their kindness and compassion during one of the most difficult times in my life. I unexpectedly lost my dog on a Friday night, and with the weekend approaching, I was overwhelmed and unsure what to do. They graciously allowed me to bring her there and kept her safe until I could make arrangements. Their understanding and support brought me comfort during a heartbreaking situation. I also accidentally left my dog’s blanket when I dropped her off. The staff went above and beyond to help locate it and make sure I got it back. It may seem like a small thing, but it meant so much to me. Everyone I spoke with was caring, respectful, and compassionate. I will always be grateful for the kindness they showed both my dog and me during such a difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️🐾

All of the staff were very kind and helpful! They weren’t pushy about doing extra things that would cost more but did give us extra options for peace of mind. Turns out our pup just had a UTI. Dr. Yacobucci was very helpful and explained everything very well. Thank you to everyone at Carolina Veterinary Specialists!

An emergency vet is never a place that I want to have to visit. I will absolutely go back to the Rock Hill office if we ever have another late-night-emergency issue with any of our pets. We arrived about 10pm and the office had lowered lighting, very quiet, very prompt reception and room assignment, all excellent things to minimize stress both on me and my sick dog. All staff we interacted with was so nice, so gentle and patient with their questions about my dog and narrowing down the issue before taking her in the back and doing some testing (which they explained the cost of beforehand and asked us to approve). The vet we spoke to explained what was going on, and because it was a relatively minor/simple fix, we were able to get out well ahead of the estimated wait time which was much appreciated. Notes for others: I highly recommend, they do emergency services right. Even if they say it's a long wait, it's worth waiting. It still might be as long or longer than they estimate, but your pet deserves excellent care, and there's always a chance that your issue is like ours and they can get you going home faster, hopefully with a healthier pet.

I can’t say enough good things about this facility. After a whirlwind weekend from finding out how sick my sweet cat was to having to make the humane decision to end his suffering, Dr. Phillips (and the entire staff we dealt with) was phenomenal. He was straightforward from the beginning, but compassionate. I understood what we were possibly facing had my cat been able to recover, but the next morning when it was obvious his condition was worse than what we thought, the doc explained every detail thoroughly, and I could feel he was genuinely sorry nothing more could be done for him. They give you the option to go to a "less medical," more calm room and give you the time and space you need to sit with your fur baby. The process was quick, which is all you can hope for in a situation like that. I just want to say thank you to Dr. Phillips and the care team at CVS for doing what they could to help my cat, Dewey. He was my everything and it helps to know he was surrounded by good, safe hands in his final hours.
