Dr. Mays is the BEST!!! We've been taking our cats there since 2020 and wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff are AMAZING humans ❤️ and they take just as awesome care to both pets and owners. Unfortunately we lost our beloved Princess Shadow Kai in October 2024. Dr. Mays was so compassionate and understanding. Kai had a brain tumor which caused a stroke, she was 17 years old. They let us stay with her for as long as we wanted and they even gave us small vials with some fur clippings and whiskers. The cremation service they work with is also amazing. They returned Kai's ashes in a beautiful stained wood box stand, with a gold plate attached that had Kai written on it and a glass pane on the front for a 5x7 picture. They also gave us a framed impression of her paw print. Kai was a Bombay purebred. Her sister Dr. Harleen Quinzel (AKA: Harley Quinn) is still with us thank Goddess. Dr. Mays caught an infection in Harley's gums that would have killed her, but required the removal of all her teeth except for her 4 canines. It saved her life. Kai was all black with golden eyes and Harley is a tuxedo that looks like she's wearing a Harlequin leotard.

Still new to these folks, but they saved our Golden Retriever' s life when our regular Vet said everything was normal and we knew that something wasn't right. Long story short, Piper's Thyroid was none functional and her anxiety was ridiculous. VCA found the issue, took care of it and gave our Piper a new lease on life. Whereas the previous Vet who was reputable at one time said "all her numbers and counts were fine". Naturally, we immediately transferred our other 2 dogs to VCA, as they we very compassionate, professional, kind and caring. It was the right choice for us. If you choose VCA, you will be very satisfied with them! Thank you VCA, Chad & Linda K

Y’all. I seriously love VCA Pets First! They are so friendly and efficient. The office is always tidy and comfortable. I’ve been bringing my cat to them for 6 years and couldn’t imagine taking her to a better group of caregivers! If you’re looking for a great vet office in this area, look no further.

This was our first visit to VCA. While our vet was running moderately late, it was obvious that it was because she takes her time thoroughly with her patients. Dr. Mays and her tech was so sweet, informational and helpful. We will definitely be back.

I drive over an hour out of my way just to bring my shih tzus to this clinic. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by Hannah the receptionist. She is always so friendly and helpful. Then Dr. Braunstein and Dr. Belt are top notch. I would mention the third doctor but I have not meet her yet. Then of course Tina, she is very friendly and loves my boys. I will never take my boys Chan and Jonas anywhere else.

Just two weeks ago, we lost our sweet cat Susie, and it completely shattered our hearts. When our other cat, Oscar, suddenly stopped eating soon after, we thought he was just grieving her loss. But as the days went on, it became clear that something was really wrong — he wasn’t eating because he was in terrible pain from severe dental disease. From the very first phone call, Hannah at the front desk was so kind and compassionate. Even though she had never met Oscar, she showed such genuine concern and care for him that I knew we had found the right place. Kristen, a vet technician, gave me the reassurance I desperately needed — that they could help him — and she moved quickly to get him scheduled for dental surgery when she saw how badly he needed it. Dr. Belt made sure to cover all the bases and confirm that Oscar was healthy enough for surgery and didn’t have any hidden conditions that could put him at risk. And even though I didn’t meet her face-to-face, Dr. Mays performed his surgery with such skill and care, and gave him a true second chance at life. Oscar came home last night, and he’s already eating, purring, and acting like himself again for the first time in weeks. I can’t express how thankful I am to the entire team at VCA Pets First Animal Hospital. They listened to me when I knew in my heart what was wrong, they treated him like their own, and they brought my boy back to me. They didn’t just save his life — they gave him back his spark. 💕🐾
