I can’t recommend Care First - Oberlin enough. I have been taking my cats here for years and have been nothing but thrilled with their care. Everyone here is kind, patient, knowledgeable, empathetic, and caring (to both my fur babies AND me!) Shalynn has quite literally been the best. She helped me so much today and was patient and positive the entire time - I can’t express my gratitude enough!

I am writing to share my experience with your clinic. While we typically use a primary veterinarian, the recent influx of new residents and general busyness in the field has made it difficult to secure short-notice appointments elsewhere. When I called regarding our downed dog, Bianca was incredibly helpful, kind, and courteous, and she immediately put my wife and me at ease by assuring us that we could be seen that same day. She is a true gem and the type of employee who clearly goes above and beyond for animals. Ruger who can be nervous also felt safe in her presence which speaks volumes of who she is. We are very grateful for the hospitality we received. Because of Bianca’s exceptional service, we will certainly be returning to your practice in the future. 🤍

We've been taking our Golden Retriever (now 11) to Care First since we moved to the area, around 2020. During that time they've treated numerous ailments (ear infections, bladder infections, cough, torn ligaments, diagnosed her with melanoma), performed TPLO surgery, conducted treadmill water therapy, removed her spleen, and just today removed a mass on her hip. Throughout this entire time, they've treated her with an incredible amount of care and compassion. As Dr. Wages took her back for surgery today she said "I'll take good care of her," and I knew that to be true. Your pets will receive the best care and expertise at Care First. You can trust that your pet is in good hands. ♥️ We love the entire team at Care First.

I have taken my pet families to Care First Oberlin for 40+ years, in sickness, in health and with gentle support when the inevitable time comes to part. From front desk to clinical care, boarding and grooming, I trust that Care First understands that my guys are family and will be treated as they would their own. I have been fortunate to have benefitted from the experienced care of Dr. Joe Gordon and Dr. Page Wages for years. But I have seen no less commitment or expertise from other Vets who joined the practice. I recommend First Care without hesitation.

Can’t recommend Care First enough. My cat Taco went through a tough battle with cancer, and I worked closely with Dr. Wages throughout it. We ended up getting 15 months with him when we originally thought we’d only have 3–6, which meant everything to me. What really stood out was the communication. Anytime I called, I was actually able to speak directly with Dr. Wages and get my questions answered. I’ve had past experiences with other vets where calls wouldn’t get returned or everything had to go through the front desk, so this was incredibly refreshing and made a hard situation so much easier to navigate. Everyone there is genuinely kind and welcoming, from the front desk to the vet techs to the doctors themselves. You can tell they truly care about both the pets and the people. When Taco sadly passed, they even sent me a bouquet of flowers, which meant a lot. I’m really grateful for the care they gave him and the support they gave me through it all. When I’m ready to add a new friend to my life, I’ll absolutely be coming back here.

Wouldn’t dream of letting anyone else take care of my pups. They have been with us every step of the way thru well care, routine care, emergency visits, surgeries, chronic problems from the day they arrived to the day they crossed the rainbow bridge. They have loved all our pups, Jack, Blue, Salt, Sarge, Hank and Fin. They genuinely do everything they can to help keep your pets happy and healthy for the best life possible. Dr. Wages, Bianca and Val have gone above and beyond too many times to count.

Dr Wages is amazing. She gave us 10 extra months with our dog Bunsen after an anal glad cancer surgery. She’s also been helping us with our dog Felix for over a year after he had liver sepsis. He’s almost 14 so I know he’s lived a great life and she’s helped us through a lot of it.
