Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital

My cat had to have dental surgery and ended up needing a much more extensive surgery than expected. The doctor called me three times to keep me updated during the surgery. All of the staff at Gentle Doctor are absolutely amazing and treat my animals with care and compassion. I am absolutely so impressed with Gentle Doctor and am happy I was lucky enough to find them after my move to Omaha. Highly recommend.

I love the care that our Shelby cat receives here. I am so thankful for the staff. They really are gentle with our spicy guy. With our veterinary team’s advice and support we have helped Shelby get down to almost his target weight and out of the risk of diabetes! What an amazing accomplishment!

Well, I have been with Gentle Doctor for approx. 50 years, so evidently we really like you. The personnel are wonderful. Dr. Bashera knows how to pick good employees. I really love all of you!!! I will answer the pricing here. You can't help the tariffs that is upon everyone but I do hope eventually the prices will go back to "normal" especially for people that want a pet but can't afford the Vet bill. I feel sorry for them cause they want a pet so bad like me!!! Yes you can get insurance but maybe the people can't afford that either. My heart goes out to them. I am thankful that we are able to afford our Izzy & able to take care of her properly. The cost of living is horrible, I feel for the family's that are just starting out, this is terrible!!! Sorry I have chatted on & on. It isn't your fault regarding the prices, you have to purchase all of your supplies, understandable. Love, Judy & Izzy

Dr. Thomasson is an exceptional veterinarian at Gentle Doctor on 89th and Grant. From day one, she has cared for my animals with incredible compassion and dedication. Her genuine love for pets, along with her unwavering commitment to providing the best care during both joyous and challenging times, makes her a truly remarkable doctor. I wholeheartedly recommend Gentle Doctor to anyone seeking top-tier veterinary care, and while every member of the team is wonderful, I especially recommend Dr. Thomasson. I also want to mention Amanda at the front desk and the compassionate tech who supported us when we had to say goodbye to my beloved Rory. They are all a part of what makes Gentle Doctor such a special place.

Listen, straight up — these people care about animals. They care about your pets. We’ve been taking our dogs here since at least 2017. One of whom unfortunately is no longer with us. 🙁 We’ve seen both the female and male veterinarians (sorry I can’t remember names), various techs and probably most of the front desk staff and I can’t say I’ve had a bad experience with any of them. For transparency sake, I’ve definitely been frustrated sometimes when I’ve gotten answers like "well there’s various things that could be causing this" but hey, I can appreciate an honest answer of not knowing. Bottom line, they will be honest with you about your pets health and how to take care of them, they will not be judgmental when you freak out over nothing (as I have numerous times) and if there is something wrong they will genuinely try to find the cause. I don’t know that I’d trust taking my dog anywhere else.

I’ve taken my pets to Gentle Doctor on Grant Street for years and they’re always excellent. Friendly staff, clean facility, and the vets take time to explain things and really care about the animals. Highly recommend this location!

Reassuring, upfront about costs, very friendly vet techs, and Dr. Valadez really took the time to discuss everything I was worried about with my sweet kitten and walked me through all her X-rays and future care needed. They got me seen in under 2 hours when I called the same morning. Very Clean and doesn't smell either!
