Viamonte Veterinary Clinic has provided exceptional care to my dog for many years, and once again they went above and beyond during a recent emergency with a cat we rescued from the street after a motor vehicle accident. From the moment we arrived, the level of professionalism, clinical expertise, and genuine compassion was outstanding. Dr. Juan Viamonte exemplifies what it means to be an excellent veterinarian (thorough, knowledgeable, calm, and deeply kind). He took the time to explain every step of the evaluation and treatment, while making sure the animal was comfortable and that we felt supported during a very stressful situation. The entire staff deserves recognition as well. Their kindness, empathy, and dedication were evident in every interaction. They treated this injured stray with the same care and respect they would give to a longtime patient, which speaks volumes about their values and commitment to animal welfare. I have been coming to this veterinary office for some time and I truly love the veterinarians and staff. They consistently treat my cat with genuine care, take the time to address my concerns, and overall provide excellent medical service. That said, I’ve now used the in-house groomer twice, and my most recent experience was disappointing. During my cat’s second grooming appointment, I was informed that she needed to be sedated. While I did consent, I was upset that a professional groomer did not have the tools or skill set to groom my friendly, well-behaved cat without sedation. Additionally, I requested a medium trim, which is what my cat has received in the past. Unfortunately, her coat was cut extremely short—almost shaved—during one of the coldest times of the year. Because of this, she has been noticeably uncomfortable and has spent most of her time bundled under blankets instead of being her usual social, playful self. Lastly, while she was clean, she did not have the fresh scent or finishing touches (such as the light perfume) that she received during her previous grooming visit. I continue to highly recommend this veterinary practice for their medical care and compassionate staff, but I hope this feedback helps improve the grooming experience moving forward.

Amazing staff and care! Everyone is always super friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve been going for years and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my cat. Dr. Viamonte and the entire staff take the time to make sure your pet is cared for and are super transparent about testament options and finances. Special shout out to Shelsy who is incredibly kind and reassuring, she always makes certain that my questions are all answered thoroughly!

I have been taking my dogs there for a few years now. Dr. Viamonte and his team are exceptional. They are highly skilled at what they do but the love and care they have for animals is palpable. They always take the time to answer my questions and explain things in a clear and concise manner. Highly recommend!

The medical care itself was appropriate and handled professionally, and I appreciate the staff’s responsiveness during urgent visits. Especially the trainees did a great job caring for my dog — their communication was excellent, the veterinary care was thorough, and they clearly explained the costs upfront. That said, I was surprised by the level of add-on items presented after an initial treatment plan had already been reviewed and accepted. Several non-essential products and services were offered repeatedly (such as food, probiotics, and other extras), which made the visit feel more sales-driven than expected. I also want to note that this is not the first time I’ve experienced this here. In previous visits, additional charges were added under stressful circumstances that I did not notice at the time — including a relatively high fee for a "special shampoo," and small but unapproved items such as brief ear cleaning performed without prior discussion and then added to the bill. I would strongly encourage clearer upfront communication and explicit consent before adding optional services or products. This would go a long way toward building trust, especially during stressful or emergency situations.
