After numerous recent complaints/rants on the long beach subreddit and the like, as well as the fact they dig their heels in and reply to every less-than-positive review with defensive rants and zero understanding, I would like to share my experience. In 2015, beach vet spayed my 1 year old jack russell terrier. We were slightly turned off by the "holistic and pseudoscience" stuff but we had already been visiting this vet so we decided to move forward. She stayed overnight and when we picked her up the next day, she was tired but we assumed it was from the drugs. Over the next week, we called multiple times as Copper started to show signs of infection. They continually told us not to worry. After a week, we were able to get an appointment and even though her stomach was green around the stitches, she had a fever and had been hiding in the closet the 24 hours before this, they still said there was nothing to worry about and that they didn't want to "pump her full of anti-biotics". We weren't going to argue so we got her in an hour later at cats and dogs on redondo. She had sepsis and was left there for 2 nights to recover. I'm not a troll. I realize I'm going to get a weird, prolonged, butthurt response but it's the truth. Keep your pseudoscience stuff to yourself. Give my dog what scientists developed to keep them alive and stop trying to stand on some weird moral high ground.
I strongly recommend this veterinary clinic. I'm just sad I didn’t find out about them sooner. Huge thanks to the doctor and staff for the care and attention they gave us and our dog, Payton. From the moment we walked in with our sick baby—who was suffering from severe kidney failure—the staff and doctor were incredibly positive, encouraging, and optimistic. Thanks to the new diet and the treatment plan provided by the doctor, our 12-year-old beagle is still with us today. This is after three other vets gave us false hope and told us our dog likely wouldn’t make it to the end of the month. We are beyond grateful for the difference this clinic made in Payton’s life.
Dr. Ena and her staff Diana have been wonderful to work with. My nearly 10 year old corgi has been dealing with a back and bladder issue. Dr. Ena takes the time needed to discuss options. I never feel rushed when talking through my questions.
I have a beautiful 12yr old cat that’s been suffering for a year with respiratory problems. I went to 1 other vet that was a nightmare and a specialist who failed to help him. But the experience and wisdom of Dr Ena was a game changer. Dr Ena and her team were wonderful. Beach Vet is a true hidden gem in Long Beach. If you need a great vet that’s truly interested in your beloved pet Beach Vet and Dr Ena is the way to go! Thank you all so much.
I find that Beach Vet offers services at great prices. I really value Dr. Ena Valikov's expertise and years of experience when diagnosing health issues for my two cats. Recently booked one of my cats for oral surgery to remove diseased teeth with a provider Dr. Val recommended, and they provided great care. But my cat experienced some troubling side effects due to the topical anesthesia used (Zorbium) and, when he'd otherwise returned to his normal self, he still wasn't walking with a regular gait post surgery, but scooting along his hind legs. I wasn't able to book a follow-up with one of their vets fast enough, so I turned to Beach Vet. Dr. Val was initially worried about intervening diagnostically with the outcome of a procedure performed elsewhere, but ultimately kindly agreed to check over my cat to ensure he wasn't dealing with something that could be remedied quickly and simply, like constipation (a Zorbium side effect). Just consulting with Dr. Val really eased my mind and using the small amounts of baby aspirin as she recommended seemed to speed the recovery of his mobility. Now he's back to 100% and healthier than ever.
Avoid this place they only care about money if they feel they cant convince you to run expensive test their attitude immediately changes and run you off with your ill pet. My dog was throwing up blood she sat in the lobby with us as i filled paperwork. didnt even make it to the examination room she looked at my dog touched him a bit and changed me $75 for 10min of her mostly trying to convince me of what package of test I would like when I mentioned I dont have much money she got upset and kicked me out.
Dr. Ena at Beach Vet is the best! We have been coming here for three years. She is expert, she has diagnosed illnesses other vets have missed, and she saved the life of our Bella. She explains things thoroughly, she doesn't overcharge, and her staff are also friendly and highly competent. If you love your pet, Beach Vet is the most loving thing you can do for them.
