Lakefield Veterinary Group

📍 Cat veterinarians in Kent

3.0

Lakefield Veterinary Group in Kent has seen a notable shift in service quality since its acquisition. While the staff remains courteous, there are concerns about the prioritization of profits over patient care. Some clients have reported increased costs and reduced personal attention, with a notable decline in the level of care compared to previous management.

Despite these issues, the facility is well-maintained and the veterinary professionals are well-trained. However, there have been reports of inconsistent service and corporate-driven policies that may not align with the needs of the community. Potential clients should consider these factors when choosing a veterinary service.

The cost of vet care at Hillcrest Animal Hospital has has gotten expensive. My dog was there for a possible UTI. I was charged 99.00 instead of the standard 79.00 (which is already high) for a illness visit instead of a wellness check. The appointment took a total of 12 minutes. This is $495.00 an hour for care... There was no difference in the appointment at all. Just an excuse to charge 20.00 extra dollars. Then pile it on, I was charged $30.00 for (Duoxo) wipes that cost $17.00 at Petco. Now I have to be concerned that my vet is pushing addon's like going to the mechanic. $390.00 for my dogs UTI. There has been a sharp decline in care and personal attention since the departure of the previous vet owner and the sale of the clinic to Lakefield Veterinary Group. It is clear that care about animals is not their primary focus and is now about how much profit their corporation can make. Truly disapointed that this has happened. The staff was not rude at all, I do however, start to question the vets and techinicians that work for these corporations? They have become sales people and not care givers.

This is a private equity group that buys out a lot of animal hospitals such as emerald city emergency clinic in order to make profits for their investors. Please make sure your vet is locally owned and not a private equity owned business as the priorities of the patients and PE-owned business are obviously very different.

One of their owned vet office in Arizona has been losing patients because of the rudeness of the office staff. Vets are very well trained and personable - have been a client for a few years and have poured so much money in there with my 10 dogs only to be disrespected by an office person- when I complained to the higher ups, I was canned as a client- I transferred my records to their sister clinic only to be booted from that practice while having no issues there- I’m afraid by hiring incompetent, rude, disrespectful office staff will bring their own demise- oh and they slandered me/ libel saying I was the one that was abusive- May be worth a trip to my attorney and checking into a complaint with the vet medical board- should anything happen to my dog who is monitored and treated for heart failure- they will be sued

They own Emerald City Emergency Clinic… I showed up with my roommates cat who has been scratching, making himself bleed from some what looks like skin infection and who has been throwing up everyday only to be turned away by the Vet because he is "not sick enough". What’s a 24 Hour Vet Hospital doing if not taking sick animals? I asked if they could reconsider and I’ll pay whatever to have him seen and was repeatedly told no. They gave one option to go take him in and when I told her I already contacted that Vet was just given a shrug and awkward silence. Do not support this business. They’re not here for their community or your animal.

My German Shepherd fell ill so I called his vet to get him in little did I know they had been bought out by lakefield vetetinary group. I was told that my boy needed an appointment and the soonest appointment was two weeks out. I told them my dog would be dead by then all they said was we can’t see him without an appointment. This would have never happened under previous management. My boy ended up dying even after going to an emergency Vet. Steer clear of these people they are not in the business of helping animals they are in the business of making money

As a Hospital Administrator, I am really appreciating the personal touch of the smaller company. Everyone at the support center is incredibly helpful and friendly. I honestly feel like every person I interact with wants to help me with whatever I need.
