Couldn’t say more great things about this Vet office! All of the ladies inside are so nice and welcoming. I took my new puppy here and the puppy pack is a great deal, other places I have been with my other dogs are very expensive and this office seems to be more concerned with the care of your dog than the price they charge! Dr. Thunell really does a great job making sure you have no concerns when you leave and setting the expectation from the beginning! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a vet!
This team is amazing! My cat had cancer causing osteonecrosis in his feet. We scheduled a date to amputate the toes but day of the appointment the Dr called and informed me the entire front leg needed to go. This was over the holidays and the situation had gotten worse since the last exam. Dr Thunnel also told me that he caught a virus over the holidays and didn’t feel he could competently complete such a massive surgery in his current condition. This alone meant the world to me, he put my cats well being over the profit of the surgery. This was an expensive surgery and he cared more about doing it right than getting the money on his books! His staff is so kind and caring. They put my pets health above everything. I am so grateful!! Thank you all!
Outstanding Veterinary Care Highly Recommended Our experience with Shelbyville Road Veterinary Hospital has been exceptional from start to finish. After taking our dog Lacey to multiple facilities during an extremely stressful and uncertain time, we were relieved to find a team that truly stands apart. Dr Tim Thunnell and his entire staff demonstrated world class professionalism, compassion, and expertise. Every individual we encountered treated Lacey with genuine care and treated us with patience, respect, and understanding. In a moment when we were overwhelmed and worried, they provided reassurance, clear communication, and exceptional medical attention. Their pricing was very fair, and unlike some of our prior experiences elsewhere, we never once felt pressured, upsold, or taken advantage of. It was clear their priority was Lacy’s well being, not profit. Because of the remarkable level of service we received, we will be transitioning all of our future veterinary needs to Shelbyville Road Veterinary Hospital. We recommend them to any pet owner seeking high quality, compassionate care, especially during challenging times. We are grateful for everything they did for Lacy and cannot thank them enough!
Not happy with my experience here. The vet offered the same treatment (deworming + flea prevention) both times I went in addition to pushing steroids, antibiotics and anal gland expression the second time for my cat since it didn’t work. The only diagnostic offered to actually figure out if there were any issues was bloodwork (not even a stool sample to rule out parasites despite being offered treatment for it twice). Nothing was explained, including potential treatment and the reasoning, nor was the cost transparent in any way, with extra fees and other assorted issues. The cat’s symptoms only got worse immediately after that expression and didn’t start getting better until we put him on a different diet of our own accord. It quickly added up to 200-300+ dollars every time I went for treatments that didn’t even fix the problem. So we basically threw away 500 bucks. On top of that, communication was exceptionally poor. Ended up going to another vet and it was so much better, albeit they had a hard time even getting detailed records from this place.
Charged me just under $1000.00 to see my cat and dog. Gave me meds for ear infections. Both improved for 2 weeks and then they were right back to the same issues. I tried to call the clinic. No one answered so I left a message. No one will return my call. Would not recommend!!
The puppy packs are a great deal! My Great Pyrenees was part of the package a few years back and she was able to get all her vaccines, and I mean ALL the vaccines, with boosters at a reasonable price. They also have the option, though it is additional, of getting a Lyme vaccine which is an absolute must for an Indiana dog! Here's my little girl on her first visit! She fell asleep 😉
Fantastic!!! Got us in for our cat’s vomiting issue within 48 hours and were super efficient when it comes to the actual work up and bloods.
