El Paso Animal Emergency Center

First and foremost, THANK YOU EL PASO ANIMAL EMERGENCY CENTER!! They literally saved my 5 month old kitten from dying! I know everyone has a different experience and there’s other bad reviews, but my most recent visit about a week or so ago was truly amazing! The staff were so nice, caring, and understanding. We brought our kitten in from our local vet because he was in severe kidney failure. Literally dying! 😢 Many thought he wouldn’t survive the night, but he pushed through and survived and is doing so much better! They cared for him and kept us updated throughout the night. All of the doctor’s and vet techs who cared for him were amazing as well!! Thankfully he only had to be there for two nights, but we truly believe if it wasn’t for their active care, as well as our prayers, he wouldn’t be with us today. He’s truly a walking miracle. THANK YOU GOD! 🙏 The cost is of course, pretty costly, but that’s expected of an emergency hospital. However, they do try to work with you. Still, I will always forever now tell his story because he’s our miracle baby. So thank you all again! Mr. Oliver lives and thrives because of you! I will share a picture of him before when he was in the hospital, and how he is now. His sister is so happy to have him back home! 🥰

Update: We got a new puppy, and one day out of the blue he did not want to eat or do much of anything else. I rushed him to El Paso Animal Emergency Center. He had a high fever and many other signs and symptoms of Parvo. El Paso Animal Emergency Center’s vets, vet techs, and all staff were wonderful in treating my puppy! They constantly monitored him, giving fluids and antibiotics as prescribed. Our new puppy got to go home and is doing well! Thank you to everyone at El Paso Animal Emergency for the compassion and care! This emergency vet is great. They took care of my dog that ate a silicone hard plastic cooking/serving spoon. I didn’t have to wait in my car for hours to be seen. It did take some time for x-ray results, but that is because they had more critical patients other than my spoon eater (which is fine now) and they have a radiologist also read the films. They gave the same compassion and care to him as they would any other dog in any other situation. Great caring doctors and staff. Be patient, emergencies can happen and be fearful. You are in good hands here.

Everyone was so helpful and nice. The Doctor was very professional. My dog of 20 years we had to put down. They gave us a paw print they wouldn’t do it until we told them to. They comforted us while we were crying. Definitely recommend going here. Eddie are assigned tech was so nice and helpful.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about El Paso Animal Emergency Center, especially Dr. Flores and her incredible team. From the moment I walked in, they treated my pet with urgency, compassion, and genuine care. Dr. Flores took the time to explain everything clearly, answered every question without rushing, and made sure I understood the treatment plan. Her calm, confident approach immediately put me at ease during a very stressful moment. The staff was just as exceptional — attentive, gentle, and truly dedicated. They handled my pet with so much kindness, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. I’m extremely grateful for Dr. Flores and her team. They turned a frightening situation into one where I felt supported and reassured. El Paso is lucky to have an emergency center with this level of expertise and heart. I highly recommend them to any pet owner who wants their animal in the best hands.

I live in Las Cruces and had to bring my sweet boy, Pepe, to this emergency vet last night. For a month, we've thought he just needed dental surgery to remove his one last fang, as he has FIV. He was scheduled for surgery this Thursday at Animal Hospital of Las Cruces. I made multiple phone calls and visits to them and they kept assuming it was just his tooth that needed removed. I couldn't get pain medication in him by putting in his food or putting in his mouth, so he was really suffering. However, his condition worsened so we took him back to our vet once i told them the pain injection he got didn't really help him. They said he had a pleural effusion and to get him emergency care. This emergency vet was wonderful. They took an ultrasound of his chest and found a mass. Pepe rescued ME when we were living in El Paso waiting to move to Las Cruces. I was going thru chemo and radiation and Pepe was truly a Godsend to me. He showed up at our apartment and I fell in love with him. I had to say goodbye to him last night and the staff and doctor were very compassionate and understanding. I would recommend this service and El Paso should feel fortunate to have them as we don't have a full time emergency vet in Las Cruces. I'm very disappointed with our vet in Las Cruces. We did not expect to lose this beautiful, sweet boy over "just a tooth"!! We are devastated!

I am writing this review to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction and heartbreak regarding the care my kitten received at this facility. Please listen to the many negative reviews; I deeply wish I had. I fail to understand how I could call in the morning and be told my kitten was doing well and would likely go home, only to arrive two hours later and have him die in my arms in a traumatizing and heartbreaking way. He died while suffocating due to suspected pneumonia, yet I never received a straight answer regarding his condition which is normal when it comes to this facility. This experience has left me with several urgent questions: -Was my kitten even being checked on? - Were the technicians providing the front desk with accurate information, or just generic answers to get me off the phone? -How is it that his health deteriorated so rapidly within a few hours without anyone notifying me of the gravity of the situation? While I appreciate the front desk staff and Dr. Culver/Dr. Lara, the rest of your staff falls extremely short in terms of professionalism, empathy, job knowledge, and communication. I felt I had to harass the office just to receive updates. My kitten was everything to me, and I was prepared to do and pay whatever was necessary for his care, yet I feel he was treated as just another number. I will never bring my other pets to this location again. The only reason I will return is to collect the ashes of my kitten who died under what I consider to be neglectful care. My trust in your facility was misplaced, and I deeply regret leaving my beautiful and beloved baby in your hands.

Although ultimately my primary care vet and I decided it best to euthanize my kitten, the El Paso Animal Emergency Center staff was vital to ensuring that she get the care she needed to stabilize her overnight until I could get her transported to my vet. My husky snapped at her at around 10:30 PM, getting her right in the face. I immediately rushed her to El Paso. I went inside, told them what happened, and they were able to get her seen immediately. I didn't wait long for the vet to give me a detailed report of what she could see, what she wasn't able tonsee yet, and her primary concerns. She was friendly and easy to talk to. This entire clinic was very proactive in getting my kitten the care she needed. As expected it was expensive, and I did not agree with some of the tests they recommended and denied them for cost related purposes as well as not seeing them as important to the situation given my goal by bringing her to them was just to stabilize her overnight until I could get her to my vet. In no way do I think that they were pushing for tests because they wanted money. They were very much wanting to be able to have a completely knowledge of her bloodwork, vitals, etc. So that if there was any underlying condition that could complicate an already dire situation, they could act fast. Even though it is expensive, it was emergency care. They have options like Care Credit which is what I used and pet insurance, etc. I appreciate everything that they did for Meryl and am extremely impressed with their staff's handling of the situation even though it was midnight and i am sure I wasn't at my most polite. At my primary care the photo is what we were dealing with, and my primary vet and I agreed it wasn't a quality life she would have due to how unable she was to eat, and it would have required dental surgery that MAYBE could have helped her. I did not want her to suffer longer due to "maybe". Thank you guys so much for the care you gave her.
