Banfield Pet Hospital

📍 Cat veterinarians in West Jordan

6.1

Address offers comprehensive veterinary care for cats, though experiences may vary by location. Their services include wellness plans, though some pet owners find them less cost-effective over time, particularly for younger or healthier pets. The quality of care can depend on staff consistency and attention to detail.

While some clinics provide reliable and attentive treatment, others may fall short in addressing specific health concerns. For those prioritizing long-term pet health, exploring alternative insurance options could be beneficial before committing to a plan.

Banfield has been so great for us, it’s a shame the staff is so incompetent at this location. They sent us home with cat food for my dog’s health issues, nurse was googling medications and images throughout our consultation, and my pets issues were never resolved. If you care about the health of your pet, don’t take them here.

This review is mixed, because the local Banfield we use is actually good. However, over the years of being customers we have learned that your experiences completely dependent upon the location at which you seek services. Almost every Banfield location is plagued with high turnover and a sort of "get them in, get them out" ethos -- very disconcerting for those of us who treat their pets as family members. So if you land on the right location your experience will be great; otherwise, you'll likely hate it. Regarding the Banfield Wellness plans, the costs continue to escalate every year and the coverage never seems to improve. I no longer consider them a good value except for elderly dogs and/or those with medical issues. If your dog (or cat) is young and healthy, the plans are not worth the cost at all. If you do the math, you'll see that ultimately you save money with a good pet insurance plan that includes wellness, over the Banfield plans. There are also hidden costs that if you decide to end your plan you'll find out that you have to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars to escape the plan. In short, unless your dog is elderly or has significant medical issues, you're much better off with the more traditional veterinary center, supplemented through pet insurance with a wellness component.

The staff has always been kind and friendly, and I think this is a decent vet for a healthy young pet needing routine care. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a great experience managing my senior dog’s ongoing medical needs here. My 9-year-old Heeler has seizures, and I often receive inconsistent information regarding her care and treatment plans. The biggest issue has been getting her seizure medication refilled. Even when I give advance notice, there always seems to be a problem; prescriptions being sent to the wrong pharmacy, not being called in at all, delays because the doctor is unavailable to approve refills, etc. It becomes stressful when dealing with medication that’s so important for her health. I’ve also had multiple appointments where it felt like her medical history hadn’t been fully reviewed before discussing next steps. I know veterinary offices are busy, but for pets with chronic conditions, consistency and communication really matter.

My dog was old and dying. Took her in and they told me i can just change my plan to an older dogs plan, different than the one i had for 13 year to do an extra test. She didn't get better so i went back to put her down and they convinced me to buy more medication that my dog couldn't even take because she was so sick. 3 days later my dog died and now i cant even cancel the plan unless i pay $900 that they never told me about. I felt taken advantage of in my visit here and a few times i had gone to visit at their operating hours and they weren't even there at the times listen online and on the door. All this happened in the span of about 3 weeks. I will never use a Banfield hospital again.

Dr Kyle was so thorough and nice with the treatment of my dog Ronni today! I actually prefer this location to the one closer to my house, the staff is all the way around kind to me and my dog! We both appreciate you all!

They don't deserve any stars.I will never go back there again.I've been taking my animals there for over 5 years.Just to get their nails trimmed. They haven't been open lately so I made a phone call to see if they were gonna be open. And if I could get my dog's nails denonised yes, made an appointment was supposed to go to the appointment on Monday, and they called and told me that they were going to have to charge me for an office visit and a nail trim. They said that was their policy and has been forever like I said, I've been taking my animals there for over 5 years, getting their nails trimmed, and never have been asked or told that I will never go there again and I'm telling everybody.

Lady was more concerned about me signing up for there plan than worried about the animal I came in for an eye infection. That went away before the appointment and they didn’t even ask me about her eye just trying to get her vaccinated and the monthly plan then I asked her about her eye and then all the sudden it’s even more money and the vaccines couldn’t be done until the vet looks at her eye they would charge 60$ just to look. Definitely more for the money and not the animals
