We took our 7-month-old kitten to MedVet today, and we were honestly so impressed with both the service and the facility. We’re incredibly grateful to have found an ER in Vancouver that we truly trust and feel comfortable bringing our pets to. The last time we visited an ER (in 2019 at a different hospital in Seattle), it was a very stressful experience. This time, however, the moment we walked in, we felt calm, respected, and genuinely cared for. We really appreciated how spacious the waiting area is, how quickly we were admitted, and how transparent the process was through their on-screen updates. The facility itself also feels very modern and state-of-the-art. Our kitten, Oliver, was diagnosed with FIC almost right away. The staff took excellent care of him, and we felt such a sense of relief once we had answers. The discharge notes were also thorough and easy to understand. As for pricing, we have no complaints at all—it was actually more affordable than a typical specialty visit, which was a pleasant surprise. One tip: be sure to call ahead while you’re on your way so they can send you a pre-registration form. It really helps speed up the check-in process!
Thank you for doctor David Sweeney for your diagnoses. We believe his seizures were due to head trauma, hard braking in the car about 4 months ago he hit the glove box.. 🙁 Following a fall down the stairs caused him to go from still being able to run well, to not able to balance, and walk in circles. A fast chain of events since you saw him. The euthanasia did not go exactly as planned. During prep, administered pain medication, but resulted in our dog to be unconscious entirely when walked back to us. Zero eye tracking. The pain medication was not necessary, or not any sort of mega dose. We never said and you never witnessed him whimpering during the session. Please be careful with small dogs, to properly dose. I appreciated at the time your care and your admittance that the pain med did not help anything. I suppose it helped us not to see him fade to unconscious but we didn't ask for that. Thank you for your service
I cannot overemphasize how wonderful of an experience I had here today. My dog had been vomiting for two days and when we found blood in his stool, ran to a different ER to be seen. They weren’t taking patients and recommended we call here. Immediately when calling, the receptionist picked up and said we could be seen right away and she sent my phone number a link to set up my account. We got here and my dog was triaged and we were quickly placed in an exam room. The doctor offered great solutions and explained them all well to us. My guy ended up with X-rays and some fluids. Done in about an hour and a half. Now he’s home, feeling much better, and back to his normal self. The staff is kind, the building is nice and clean, and the service is wonderful. I am so happy we chose to come here today. So is my much happier boy.
I took my service dog in because she had a torn L rear CCL and a blown R rear CCL. After incredible consultation and discussion, surgery was scheduled. In that short amount of time, her R leg deteriorated quickly. Instead of surgery, we ended up with a biopsy. Three weeks later, we went for surgery and ended up with amputation. Fast forward 15 months. We're back for the 2nd rear leg. (We were able to put it off). The staff, surgeon, techs, everyone there, throughout both times showed and demonstrated sincere care, concern, and love: not just for my dog; they constantly took my opinions, feelings, and concerns into consideration. I was a partner in every step of the process. Since my dog is part of my medical team, this was one of the most important considerations for me. There is not a better team out there than MedVet Vancouver.
Welcoming, warm and caring team, from the check in to the amazing techs and doctors ❤️. Had 2 of my fur babies within a week have unrelated emergency issues. Both were handled with love and care. Ragnar and Bowser thanks you all!
I highly recommend MedVet Vancouver. I brought my dog in after he ingested chocolate-containing cookies, and the entire experience was excellent. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the nurses were attentive and compassionate, and my dog was taken back to be evaluated within 10 minutes of arriving. While I was waiting, another dog came in experiencing respiratory distress. A nurse responded within seconds and immediately brought the dog to the back for care. It was reassuring to see how quickly and professionally the staff handled an emergency situation. Everyone we interacted with was knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely cared about the animals they were treating. Thank you to the entire team for the outstanding care.
Medvet Vancouver (Leading Specialty Healthcare for Pets) was exactly what I needed to calm my nerves when I walked in with my 131/2 year old very sick chihuahua at 9:00 at night. Cody, the vet technician, was helpful and always encouraging while I waited for the ER veterinarian DR David Sweeney (a veterinarian I might add for 38 years). I knew my little girl was in good hands. Dr Sweeney walked me through every suggested step and process explaining costs and possible outcomes along the way. No decisions were ever made without consultation with me. We have been home now for 3 days and little Lila is doing so much better. Thank you Cody, the ladies up front behind the check in desk and to the best ER Veterinarian Dr David Sweeney.🐾
