You can tell she genuinely cares for animals on a personal level, which is so important to ensure your pet gets the quality care they deserve.

This is a fabulous practice. They are small and independent which I appreciate - these days it can be hard to find a non-corporate owned vet. Dr. Lavell is attentive, understanding, and very knowledgeable. All of the staff from reception to the vet techs are personable and kind. They are great about giving cost estimates and their pricing is fair - again, being independent means it just goes to their practice and not a corporation. I drive out of my way to go here because they’re worth it!

Terrible customer service from the staff and the vet. God forbid you have a question and need more answers than what they’re giving. Their solution to everything is always to provide a remedy that requires you come back frequently and spend more money. Would not recommend at all. Update to their below response: My dog was in fact thoroughly examined by the wonderful St.Francis Vet’s office (also in Decatur) just two months ago so I know for a fact she does not have fleas - especially since it’s not her skin that’s itching (which I never said), it’s her ears - the same ears you have been treating for two years now. I know that her ears itch anytime she excessively shakes her head. Additionally, I chose to reduce her allergy treatments to an as needed basis which has proven to be once every 4-6 months. I only bring her in when she has symptoms as the treatment adds up and is not easy to maintain in this economy. Furthermore, it is my dog and my money so I can take your advice at my own discretion. While you may not "have x-ray vision (another example of your rudeness)", you may want to consider sharpening your customer service skills and learn some compassion. I never asked for an "over the phone examination" only inquired as to what the next course of action could be. A simple "We’ll need to examine her" would have sufficed.

I'm disappointed by how many people who feel they weren't treated well by the some of the staff. My experiences were alright for the most part but the costs for some of the services were outrageous. I'd still bring my dog here over other places.

INCREDIBLE vet and office! Every encounter has been pleasant--the staff is so kind and friendly! My two boys are always well taken care of. Dr. Kat is extremely caring and knowledgeable. The vets and techs are all so patient and caring! I brought in a stray cat who'd never been to the vet before, and she freaked out on them, and they reacted so calmly and compassionately and let her "hide" for a while and take her time coming to them. Also highly knowledgeable and explained everything really well to me. And open on weekends??? Can't recommend this place highly enough. They really do treat pets like people. ❤️

I left a review an amazing review I have no clue what happened to it but 10/10 experience for my pets and my family will be using them long term the VET and staff are amazing
