I’ve been bringing my pets to Mountainside Vet for nearly four years, and the experience has always been wonderful. The staff is consistently kind, welcoming, and understanding. They’ve been incredibly supportive, whether handling my concerns over the phone or during visits. They’ve helped manage my dog’s seizures with the right medication and provided anxiety relief for my more aggressive pup. They’re also patient and gentle with my shy dog. Overall, I’m so grateful to have found such a caring and reliable vet clinic.
Its taken me years to leave a review. But since my heart still tugs every single time I pass this place, I figured it is time to share . June 24th, 2022 was the worst day of my life having a whole week of having to accept that there is nothing medically that can be done to save my cat Conner. And even if they did perform the surgery, the cancer would still come back. It was a hard pill to swallow and it still is. Dr. Jamie and Dr. Kristen were wonderful and a comfort and helpful to educate what was happening. I can't remember who was in the room with me when it was time to administer the anesthesia while I was hugging my buddy, but she shed tears with me also after confirming he was gone. I weep as I write this review...💔 I thank you doctors for signing up for this career that not everyone is built for. Thank you for still caring that loss hurts. I wish I could walk in and hug you both but I understand it's appointment clients only. I drive by often every week and wonder about other cat owners that might be there going through what I went through. If you are looking for a place to go through that painful last memory, I recommend here. You and your pet will be cared about. And as you can see from the card in my photos , they still care afterwards. Thank you again 💕 hugs ~Heather Moriarty
A few years ago, my dog Jack started showing signs of Megaesophagus but his previous vet had seemingly run out of options to help us. I took him to Mountainside for a second opinion and have never looked back. From day one they welcomed us with kindness, empathy, knowledge, and a determination to ensure that Jack received the utmost care while trying to figure out a way to keep him comfortable, happy, and healthy if possible. Between the doctors and the vet techs, they have managed to not only keep Jack healthy but he is thriving! We go in weekly for fluids and everyone remains incredibly kind, fun, attentive, and warm always giving him the best care. The staff is very knowledgeable, compassionate, detail oriented, accommodating, and genuinely cares for my dog. I’d love to think we’re special but I’m happy to report that they treat everyone this way. Jack will be celebrating his 9th birthday next week, thanks to the team at Mountainside, and no review on earth could thank them enough for what they’ve given me, but I’ll give it a shot!
I brought my dog in for an annual checkup basically to get flea medicine. Strongly recommended to do a $350 lab draw before my dogs dental cleaning that was optional at the dental place i was going to. i told them that no i only wanted a basic lab, they came back with $250. I said no I only want a basic lab. They came back with $150 which is still overpriced. my dogs liver enzymes came back significantly elevated. He had no symptoms and felt totally fine. Instead of the doctor recommending that we could wait and repeat the labs, he instead strongly recommended an ultrasound, urinalysis and more blood work which was very scary. So it was $1000 to have him put through hell and then to tell me everything is basically fine and that labs were better and no intervention. RIDICULOUS. Why was I not given the option to wait and recheck lab work? Why was I pushed into doing this so urgently when he had no symptoms? It scared me to death and while I am relieved that there is nothing wrong with him, I feel very let down that I was not given the option of at least waiting and rechecking labs. A thousand dollars has set me back significantly. I can not share enough how disappointed I am in Dr. Ettinger and in Mountainside Vet.
First time and new clients. Excellent customer service by all the staff treating our German Shepherds. Erin, Christina, and Dr Livingston were kind and exceptional. Even the front desk staff did a great job.
We moved and needed to find a vet for our cat, Elvis, who has hyperthyroidism. Less than an hour after I filled out the inquiry form online, I received a called, and we had an appointment a few days later! The staff was nice and Dr. Brown was phenomenal. She listened to all of our concerns and gave thorough answers to any questions. They even called me a few months later to schedule a follow-up appointment. I had it on my to-do list, but life gets busy, so it was a big relief to get that call! Elvis seemed to feel comfy with the new environment fairly quick. He's been happy and healthy since!
My dog was introduced by another dog to Mountainside - yes - they talked :). We love Doctor Haley, he treats my dog very nice and she received excellent care - regular dental cleaning, vaccine, annual checkup. We had opportunities to be treated by other doctors in the practice and they are very nice too.
