I just came back from my first visit, and I have to say I was extremely impressed. From the moment I walked in, everything from the office to the staff to the veterinarian himself, was excellent. The doctor was not only very knowledgeable, but also incredibly respectful, honest, and genuine. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood exactly what was going on with my dog. What really stood out to me was how much he truly cares. He didn’t rush the visit at all and made me feel completely comfortable like I had known him for years, even though this was our first time meeting. As a pet owner of 16 years (Min pin named Brooklyn), I don’t say this lightly: trust is everything when it comes to your vet, and I absolutely trust him. I highly recommend this vet group to anyone looking for a doctor who is compassionate, thorough, and truly has your pet’s best interest at heart. Dr. Frank Scandaglia – Highly Recommended! As a first-time dog owner, I was really worried when my dog developed an infected anal gland. I called the office and was able to get an appointment within 45 minutes. From start to finish, the entire visit took about a half hour, which was incredibly reassuring given how stressed I was. Dr. Scandaglia and his staff were fantastic. He clearly knew exactly what was going on, explained everything in a way that put me at ease, and made sure my dog was properly treated and comfortable. He also gave me a heads-up about when my dog might feel some discomfort, which I really appreciated. The care included antibiotics, treatment of the issue, and even shaving the area to keep things clean. When I received the bill, I honestly felt it was very fair for the level of care and attention we received. What stood out the most was how much the staff genuinely cares. You can tell this is a trusted place—while I was in the waiting room, several longtime dog owners told me how great he is. After my first experience, I completely agree. Everything about this visit was excellent. I’m confident I won’t be changing vets anytime soon. Ace and I both thank Dr. Scandaglia and his amazing staff!

The doctor was amazing—so thorough and gentle—and the staff went above and beyond to make sure both my bird and I felt supported. You can really tell they love what they do. I walked out with complete peace of mind, and I’m so grateful to have found a place where I know my Stanley is safe, cared for, and loved just as much as at home.

I had an excellent experience at this veterinary clinic in Staten Island. I was extremely worried because my turtle’s little leg was swollen, and from the moment we arrived, Dr. Frank made me feel calm and reassured. He was very attentive, knowledgeable, and took the time to carefully examine my turtle and explain everything clearly. The entire staff was incredibly kind, patient, and caring. They treated my turtle with so much gentleness and respect, which meant a lot to me. The clinic is very clean, well organized, and truly professional. Although I truly hope my turtle never has another emergency, I know that if anything were to happen, I would without a doubt bring her back here. I trust that she would be in the best hands with Dr. Frank and his team. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for compassionate and professional veterinary care.

I recommend this Veterinary office to everyone.I must also say, The Doctor is a gift to all who bring their pets to get the most compassionate care any one can give. I have 5 dogs and take all of them to Dr Scandaglia. He is kind, compassionate, and well experienced in animal care. His office is immaculate, and is managed so efficiently and professionally. Appointments always run on time and the Dr takes his time and is thorough with every pet. He always calls you back to speak to you personally with any concerns and his staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Island Bird, Cat & Dog Veterinary Group. 🙏🏻

Just went to Dr Scandaglia yesterday with my sick doggie. He was getting old and unfortunately it was time to say goodbye. The doctor and his staff were very kind and compassionate. This was our first time having to euthanize a pet so it was tough. We chose the private cremation so will receive our Richie's remains soon.
