The best animal hospital in Santa Fe! Their team is so caring and compassionate, helped us with our fur baby, explained everything perfectly every time and when it was time to send our baby off for his next adventure in the sky they were so loving, calling to check on us and sending a loved filled card. I recommend them 10 out of 10 times! Thank you to the whole staff, you all are wonderful. We will always remember your support through losing Bruno, your the best.

Dr. Snable was incredible. My dog Bubbles had a large abscess on his neck and a fever which required surgery the day I brought him in. He fit him in that day, and the surgery went smoothly. Diagnosed everything correctly and the right antibiotic plan got him back to 100% in two weeks. Saved my best friend’s life, and I will forever be grateful

I always have a great experience here. My boy was sick with severe diarrhea and I was so worried. They performed routine tests and confirmed an acute case of pancreatitis. They gave him fluids, pain medication and antibiotics. They are very accommodating to people who can't afford vet care. We will always count on the Clare Eddy Thaw Animal hospital! Thank you for caring for my babies.

Do not consider this place for your animal. If you have needs more complicated than just a wellness exam, be prepared to get ghosted, denied, or just not helped. Yes, it is the cheapest Animal Hospital option around the SF area and they ACT very cheap. I had to physically go to the animal hospital 3x in order to actually talk to the front desk. I needed information to be relayed to my Vet. And even then, the front desk did not relay what I needed to the Vet for 3 weeks. After the 4th week of calling and visiting, word finally got through and it was not what I had hoped. Also, note that I had to call AGAIN to get a response after being told each time that "they will contact me". Have not received one email or phone call from them. It was only me calling and asking for updates. It turns out, my request for additional help for my animal was denied by the Vet. Specifically by DR. KELLIE LEVIN. And it seems like they weren't going to contact me to tell me this. Dr. levin is one of the worst veternarians I have delt with. According to the front desk (she never even called to actually speak to me), she was willing to help my dog with his behavior problems ONLY if I visited an behaviorist that charged around $800 per hr. (we got a second opinion about this behaviorist since this will be alot of money I will be investing in my dog, and this behaviorist had repeadted bad reviews from other professionals). Why would I risk hiring a behaviorist for $800 an HOUR if they don't have good reviews??? We brought other solutions to her that require a behaviorist vet to medical vet phone call consultation to reccomend specific medication and training techniques. Dr. levin did not consider any other option. These other places with better reviews were reccomended by a professional dog trainer, and dr. levin refused to help with doing the phone call consultation. Again, she didn't call and explain herself or tell us why she is refusing to help us. What is going on there??? Im extremely disappointed. I used to be a vet tech and this is not how I remember things being handled at a veterinary practice. You may find good reviews online but believe me. Do you want to risk it with your animal?? I did, and I regret it. Pay more for actual quality care and understanding at a different practice. Complete embarrassment for this place. I have been a loyal client of Clare Eddy Thaw for 3 years and this is how they treat loyal clients?

Absolutely terrible care at Clare Eddy Animal Hospital in Santa Fe. About 3-4 months ago, my 10-year-old Pitbull suddenly became weak in her hind legs and was dragging her feet, knuckling, and I brought her to Clare Eddy (her regular vet) in acute distress. They did a basic exam, told me it "could most likely be degenerative myelopathy," and gave her prednisone and sent us home with a recommendation to "see a neurologist". No urgency, no pain medication besides the steroid, no crate-rest instructions, no follow-up appointment – nothing. DM is not at all common in Pitbull's. The chances that my dog has DM is Very low — practically close to zero in a 10-year-old Pitbull. Within the last 2 months she was completely unable to stand or walk. I left messages asking for further testing without any call backs. No follow up, nothing. I recently rushed her to East Mountain Veterinary Center in Edgewood where Dr. Dixon immediately hospitalized her and started the proper aggressive IV steroid protocol (IVGMS) for acute intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) – the same condition Clare Eddy completely did not test for or mention as a potential cause. After just one day on the correct IV treatment at East Mountain, my dog was already brighter, more alert, and beginning to show voluntary hind-limb movement. She is now on track for a slight chance of walking again with proper care, I just hope the time I wasted feeling helpless did not hurt my dogs chances of a full recovery. Intervertebral disc disease is treatable and if diagnosed properly in a timely manner can be remedied. IVDD is an emergency that needs immediate aggressive intervention. Their failure to recognize an acute spinal cord injury and their "take these pills and good luck" approach is unacceptable and frankly reckless. If your dog ever shows hind-end weakness, do NOT waste precious time at Clare Eddy Animal Hospital. Drive straight to a 24-hour emergency hospital or a facility that actually understands spinal emergencies. My dog is fighting to walk again only because we got her real care in time, despite Clare Eddy, not because of them.
