Brought my dog in because she got into a take-out container of Mongolian beef while we were out. The vet we had explained everything to us, broke down immediate and long term effects and what we can do in the future/ next day in terms of treatment. Was super understanding of our finances and didn’t pressure us into anything at all. The vet also called us personally the next day to check up on our dog to see if she was exhibiting any symptoms. Nothing bad to say about our experience:)
Ocean avenue veterinary hospital is absolutely fantastic! Professional from beginning to end. Staring with very nice and helpful staff at the front desk, to the thorough and gentle treatment my kitty, "Cozmo" received from the amazing Dr. Padalkar and her extremely kind and caring assistant Rosemary. I can't speak highly enough about this place and what a great experience I had. Thank you! thank you! John Vanorsdel
My family member brought in my sick cat last year. They sent us home with medication because we chose the option to take care of her at home, but when her symptoms kept getting worse, we called and asked and they kept dismissing us saying that it’s normal. My cat ended up passing away because we waited too long to take her into the ER. I know it’s our fault for waiting too long, but I don’t appreciate how they were so quick to dismiss our real concerns and not take us seriously.
After my dachshund ate a pack of raisins out of the diaper bag, I knew going to our regular vet was probably not an option. I called Ocean before the emergency vet, hoping they might have some room for us. They got us in right away, administered treatment, and were so kind and concerned. It’s been a very long time since I’ve interacted with staff of any business that had genuine empathy despite being very busy.
I took my dog here because she has some skin issues. The doctor did some tests and gave her shampoo and conditioner to help and they said she will get better after a week. I applied it on her skin more than a month and she didn’t improve anything. It was not cheap for all the tests and shot. Not recommended if your dogs have skins issues.
Very impressed with this place. All staff was highly professional and pleasant. My cat got excellent care for a difficult situation. The vet was flexible and she fixed him. I would strongly recommend them!
Don’t take your pet here. They missed my dog’s ear infection, insisting nothing was wrong with it even though he was scratching at it. 5 weeks later he started losing his balance and was unable to walk. We took him in again and again they missed his ear infection, insisting he had gotten into a marijuana cookie and completely ignoring us when we told them he had no access to marijuana. We took him to AIMS the next day (where we received fantastic care from a vet who actually listened to us) and he was diagnosed with "the worst ear infection" the vet had ever seen and a completely ruptured ear drum. It just isn’t worth going here. I know they usually have same day availability, but I think there’s a reason this place doesn’t have a full schedule...
