I love this pet hospital! Dr. Press is kind, practical, doesn’t push treatments. And loves our cat Ziji! The team is equally compassionate, friendly and skillful. And I always chuckle at their joke of the month…

We took our beautiful girl here for arthritic pain. She was supposed to have an ultrasound in the morning however she was with them for hours, likely caged afraid and alone. At some point she had a stroke and from the day we picked her up we saw neurological decline. They told us it was pancreatitis and sold us over priced dog food and antibiotics. We never got any confirmation that pancreatitis was correct. She continued to decline over the next two weeks until we were forced to put her to sleep. She could have had years left. One day in their care changed all of that. Do not take your fur family here.

Terrific vet clinic. There are many different vets and all of the ones I've spoken with have been knowledgeable and great. They made me feel like my cats are in good hands. They respond very quickly to questions by phone or email. They have convenient hours, with later appointments on weekdays and are also open Saturdays.

Dr Chloe Read and the entire MPH team are the best of the best. I’ve been a client for 3 years now and the level of attention, care, and expertise we have received is unmatched. I moved from Southern California and was initially worried I would struggle finding a suitable pet hospital. Dr Read takes the time truly understand my dog’s needs (from injuries to behavioral issues) and carefully provides explanations and solutions until we come up with one that we are both comfortable and confident in. If you are looking for a new veterinarian look no further!

The Best of the Best. The best doctors, the best staff, the best veterinary hospital. I have been taking my companions here for years. As long as my circumstances allow and as long as I have companion animals I will be going to Mission Pet Hospital for their care. They put the animals health first, tell you the truth and don't try to talk you into unnecessary tests or procedures.

Our dog, 3+ years old, has been going to this place for her entire life. Vaccination, physicals, checkups and prescription filling are done with vets and aids. They provide friendly and prompt services. The fees are on a high side, especially if your pet needs x-ray and other exams.

My dogs have had the pleasure of being clients at Mission Pet since 2017 and 2024. I relocated to the East Bay in 2020, and didn't think once to change my vet because I have such faith in the doctors and techs at Mission Pet. The entire team is really great and I trust their medical opinions and care very much. For my older dog specifically, I want to give some overdue shout outs: Dr. Press: years ago, saw Shortie for his annual at 8am. We aspirated a cancerous mass and decided on the spot it was time for removal; Shortie was in and out of surgery within hours. Dr. Grant's promptness and calm demeanor meant I barely had to stress! More broadly with Dr. Press, he carefully organized my care options by price and need for escalation - ensuring I could pick the past path forward with an appropriate level of concern for Shortie and for my wallet. Dr. Grant: December 2025, we came in with eye concerns which turned out to be late stage glaucoma. Dr. Grant called a local specialists to inform our next steps, which was ultimately an emergency removal. When I told her I would prefer to go to an ER in the east bay, she called around and found one with an ophthalmologist. Mind you -- this also all after hours! I believe her above and beyond efforts truly created the safest and best outcome for Shortie's health. Dr. Blumstein: Supported Shortie and me through a kidney infection. While he received most of his care at an East Bay specialist, Dr. Blumstein was always available to provide me with a second opinion when I really needed it, especially since she has known my dog for so long. When I needed professional confirmation that I made the right decision for my boy, she answered all of my questions and gave me peace of mind. I know Shortie has also seen Dr. Perman and Dr. Fortuna, if not everyone else at MP - so a big thank you to the entire team. For as long as we have pets in the Bay area, Mission Pet will be their primary!
