VEG ER is amazing. They have a very caring team and I credit them with saving my dogs life after he was exposed to methamphetamine at dog beach. After we were released from the hospital we had several concerns. Each time I called I was able to immediately speak with a doctor. Truly exceptional care. Thank you all so much!

I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful the staff at VEG are. I had to bring my cat, Dobby, in for a urinary blockage. The doctors and technicians took the time to explain the unblocking procedure, made sure I was comfortable with the treatment plan, and reassured me that he was going to be ok. Upon arrival, we were immediately welcomed and triaged. Every person we spoke with was so kind and comforting. They answered every question I had and made a terrifying situation a lot less scary. Dobby had to stay in the hospital for a couple days, but I received updates on his status via phone call and text every 8-12 hours. They made sure I knew I could call them or visit him at any time. Dobby is back home and doing amazing! If you live in the San Diego area and your pet has an emergency, I highly recommend VEG. I promise you that your baby will receive the best care possible! I am so grateful for all the staff and everything they did for Dobby!

Thanks to this amazing group of animal lovers, our baby was given the best care one could hope for and has made a full recovery. We got to be with our kitty, Thomas, the entire 48 hours he was hospitalized. It truly made all the difference in keeping us both calm during this stressful time. A special shoutout to Ellie for going above and beyond and treating our Thomas like her own. Another for Dr. Cain. She works incredibly hard and has amazing bedside manner. She really cared about Thomas and his recovery. The entire staff was wonderful and we only encountered positive people who just want to help pets and their families. This is the golden standard for ER visits and will no doubt be our top choice moving forward. Love to you all ❤️ Attention Dog Owners: Apoquel Toxicity in Cats If your dog is on Apoquel, please be aware that the chewable treats are very palatable and enticing to cats. These are extremely toxic to cats. Keep stored in a safe area.

I want to thank the friendly and professional staff of VEG ER for taking care of my Custard today. It’s our first time needing an emergency vet for him after he was unfortunately attacked at the dog park. All the staff were urgent, attentive, and friendly with him. They treated him right away and the process was smooth and uncomplicated. I also needed to borrow a phone charger because my phone died on the way there and they were very friendly to assist. Thank you so much to your team!! Couldn’t recommend them enough.

I highly recommend. It’s an open concept but rooms if you need. You get to stay with your pet during treatment. If they are hospitalized you can stay overnight with them in the room or visit anytime you want. I had a very positive experience with every single staff member. They took such good care of my cat during his hospitalization and even took time to make sure I was okay. They called me in the evening and morning to give me updates.

I brought my bearded dragon in on a Sunday after she ingested a foil candy wrapper, and we are incredibly grateful for the care she received from the entire staff. Dr. Lance Day was outstanding. He spoke with me twice over the phone before we arrived, answered all of my questions, offered reassurance, and even provided a general cost estimate. What stood out to me most was although he doesn’t specialize in reptiles, he was very innovative and did some quick research and figured out what to do on the spot, saving my lizard. 🦎 He was very creative in his problem-solving. He created a tool using available equipment (tubes, tweezers, medical tape). He measured the x ray where it showed the roil wrapper and then put measurement marks in the tool, and although they didn’t have a scope camera small enough- Dr Day was able to get the foil out ( with no camera) — he used the x-ray photo, measurements, and felt around on my lizards abdomen and was able to safely extract the foil, blindly, with no camera guiding him. This avoided my bearded dragon needing surgery. His focus, care, and attention to detail made me feel completely confident in his treatment. Thanks to him, my bearded dragon was treated successfully and discharged the same day. While there was a longer wait due to ER triage, the outcome and quality of care mattered most, and I am very thankful to the entire team.

Our cat was not eating and experiencing labored breathing. The team at VEG was caring, thorough, and knowledgeable. They performed a quick check on our cat, provided immediate care for her breathing, explained our care options and reasons, and provided a quote. Once we approved the estimate and paid, they proceeded with the care plan. We were able to stay with our cat nearly the entire time which was appreciated. We had to take her back within 24 hours and received the same great service. The team is great there and they are all really good with your pet. I highly recommend this place.
