The techs were nice and attentive. They tried to make the doggo comfortable. We were given estimate of the charges that grew from several hundred initially to almost three thousand dollars and we had to insist to have prescription written by the vet for pain. We ended up going to a different veterinary and had all the testing and prescriptions for a fraction of the cost.

Thank you to Dr. Barber and Dr. Thompson for caring for our dog, Davie, who had surgery for a tumor removal and biopsy on his paw. They were compassionate and great with our dog. His recovery went really well and we got a thorough explanation of the steps to take at home between his medications and bandage/sutures etc. My only wish is that we would have received a heads up before the day of surgery that he would have to be kept overnight. I was not told this until I started asking questions when dropping him off (this is my first dog and first surgery so I did not know what to expect). Other than that everything was great! Thank you!

Dr Betsy Hernandez is Amazing!!!!!! She is helping our Benedict, who is almost 20 so much. She took so much time to explain everything. She is so smart and so kind. We absolutely love her and am so glad we found her. Thank you also to Carol Horn, Dr Thompson and the entire team for great care too.

This was my first time interacting with VCA since I had to bring my cat for overnight monitoring and fluids. I was really nervous, especially seeing some of the older reviews, but all of the staff was very kind, prompt, and patient. They walked me through what they'd be doing, let me know I could call to check-in throughout the night, and answered all my additional questions. I left him overnight, everything went well and he was checked out in the morning. A staff member helped me bring in his carrier the night before, and promptly got him ready when I arrived to take him back to the vet. They were all very nice and my cat was prescribed a "very good boy" and that they "hope he feels better soon." Which thankfully I can say he is doing a lot better now 🙂 My one con is that even though it's technically the cheaper ER hospital in the area, it's still a bit pricey, especially since you have to pay up front if you don't have care credit or any other credit card available. I was already told how much the night would cost at the vet prior to heading over, and they made sure to show me the itemized invoice so I didn't feel blindsided by the costs. However, that's something to keep in mind if funds are tight. Overall, I'm glad I was able to trust my cat in their care during this really stressful time.

This place SAVED my dog when she had an incredible fever, and her hind legs suddenly stopped working at around 4AM on a Sunday morning! NO other place around was open, so I rushed her to VCA's newer Mission Valley location. The staff was super friendly, and the Doc was amazing. My pup received SUCH great care, and I'm SO happy to report that she's up and running, and back to her normal crazy self! THANK YOU, VCA!

We were SO relieved to have this VCA Animal Hospital open on a Sunday to help us with a scary situation. We were camping 40 mins away when our dog started acting super out of it/strange/lethargic. We rushed to VCA and called on our way. They were sympathetic and they texted us intake forms to fill out on the drive so when we got there they could process us quickly. The facility is very clean and up to date. They clearly told us what needed to happen every step of the way as they checked our dog. We did have a long wait time in between these different steps, but that was okay--there were some urgent animals that came while we were waiting (car accident) so we understood. The vet (forget his name) was EXCELLENT. Despite all the urgent other cases, he took his time with us, explained everything to us clearly, and we felt very supported. Turns out our dog ate a THC product somehow and despite him knowing that she would be fine, he took a long time answering all of our questions and continuing to assess our dog. They ended up giving her a hydration IV and the Vet Tech worked with us and our dog as she was very nervous and let us stay in the room with her to help, which we appreciated. The cost wasn't bad at all, and we left feeling really good about how everything turned out. Highly recommend this animal hospital!

I recently had to have my dog taken here due to an emergency while we were out of town. Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse and we ultimately had to put our dog down. While the situation is heartbreaking Dr. Kelly and her staff were nothing short of amazing. They kept me informed of everything and gave us a lot of options. They were very transparent about pricing. They were also very caring and compassionate. They sent a card a few days after in the mail sending their condolences which I thought was very thoughtful. While I don’t wish this situation on any pet owner I would highly recommend Dr. Kelly and her staff. Thank you for being so caring for both us and for our dog. Thank you for assisting him over the rainbow bridge.
