Gentle Care Animal Hospital at Tryon

I adopted a 9 month old cat last week. She was having serious digestive problems that I was told about before she was adopted. Diagnosing such a problem is complicated because there can be so many causes. There were a lot of possible tests that could be needed and I was provided with all options and costs before anything was done. We chose an incremental approach and Dr DiCo and her team went to work and isolated the cause. The total bill was about 3/5 of the potential if all tests had been necessary. I hadn't shopped around, I didn't compare costs, I chose the closest vet to my home. I'm very happy that I did because I am very happy with our outcome. All of the staff were great and most especially Dr DiCo.

Vet was very sweet, staff was kind and attentive. This might not be your experience, I did bring in a 11 week old puppy, who LOVES attention, for a first vet visit. We did a wellness exam and vaccines. Shots went un noticed and we found a treat she loves... easy cheese for the win. Thanks.

Dr. Backus did my Great Dane’s gastropexy a couple years ago, and when it was time to get his dental cleaning done I knew he would be in great hands with her & the team at Gentle Care! What I wasn’t expecting and what prompted me to write this review is when waiting to pick him up I caught a glimpse of him in the back with Dr. Backus and a few of their staff members loving on him. They didn’t know I was there yet and the genuine care that they were showing him brought me to tears. IF YOUR PETS ARE YOUR FAMILY THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO TAKE YOUR PETS! Also, their entire staff was extremely kind and professional. Shout out to Ms. Karen and all the vet techs who answered all my neurotic calls every time I had a question.

The staff at Gentle Care is exceptional. My cats and dog have seen Dr. Bailey, Dr. DeAngelis, and Dr. Schell. It’s clear that they all care deeply and take great pride in what they do. We have had every kind of appointment: checkups, emergencies, surgeries, and end-of-life care. The medical assistants are always so sweet and gentle with my babies, and do a great job of helping them relax. If I call, someone usually picks up right away, and you do not have to wait long for appointments. The vets have actually texted me after hours to answer questions and check in. When I had to euthanize my cat, Dr. Bailey was incredibly kind, gentle and empathetic, and the entire staff signed a condolence card. One of the staff even called the day after a nail appointment to make sure our very dramatic dog was feeling better. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a vet. Thank you for all you do!!

Best staff ever. When my sweet rescue dog was diagnosed with heart worms I was a wreck. The Dr’s and Techs were so gentle with me and Leo and always explained anything I had questions about.🥺🫶🏻

I had a great experience at Gentle Care Animal Hospital at Tryon. The staff is friendly and the clinic is very well run. Dr. DeAngelis is an amazing Veterinarian, was kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all my questions about my dog’s care. I really appreciated the attention and compassion shown during our visit. Highly recommend! 🐾

Truly the best vet I've had across my cat's long life. Everyone, from the reception to the techs to the vets, is compassionate towards both you and your pet. No decision is taken lightly or without your input. Couldn't recommend them enough!
