My husband and I had the most amazing visit at Animal Medical Center of Pleasanton! We have a large (140 lb.) dog (rescue) with aggression issues that needed a rabies vaccine. The staff was beyond wonderful! We were referred with great care by Emily, greeted at the front desk by the most lovely woman and Josh, loved him, so skilled and such a heart for dogs, tended our dog. Of all the vets we've been to for her this was far and above the most wonderful experience, and so reasonable in comparison! Our Willa received such tender loving care (therefore, so did we) and we were so grateful! This is our new vet! I should also mention the center is beautiful and there's lots of parking. Thank you for the best experience in 8 years!
I’m sharing my experience so others can be aware of pricing and communication. I scheduled a dental cleaning based on the clinic’s advertised $399 special. I was told an exam and bloodwork were required first, and after results, a PCR test for Anaplasmosis exposure was also required. In total, I paid about $800 before the dental procedure even began. On the day of the cleaning, I was told they would assess my pet and call before proceeding. During that call, I was informed I needed to pay another $399 for the dental cleaning (despite my understanding that I had already paid for it during the initial exam). When I questioned the pricing and explained my frustrations (in hopes the vet would work with us on pricing), the vet declined to proceed with the procedure and told me to pick up my dog. While additional testing and costs may be necessary (ex. PCR test), the lack of clearly defined upfront pricing and the decision to cancel after I raised concerns was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I recommend asking for a detailed, written estimates before moving forward with this vet.
Staff was super sweet and welcoming! Was running a little late for an appointment and it wasn’t an issue at all. Treated my baby with love and care! 💕 (pic of happy customer below😚)
The entire team at Animal Medical Center are super friendly. Facility is clean. I got Porkchop in and out very quickly. He had severe itching and the team came up with a good plan for his care and I’m happy to know he will be comfortable in no time!
Animal Medical Center of Pleasanton is an amazing practice. The staff is exceptional. From the Veterinarian (Dr. Chaudhri) to the Veterinary Assistant (Toby) and all the front desk staff especially the Office Manager (Steve). They are compassionate, patient and they listen to the pet parent. There is no upsell, they lay out facts, provide written estimates and give you time to think through your options. Every experience here has been wonderful. Even the pups are happy!
We brought our dog to Animal Medical Center of Pleasanton for a foxtail surgery and have had a very frustrating experience afterward. The surgical site did not heal properly, and we’ve continued spending additional money on medications, follow-up care, and X-rays because the issue still has not been resolved. What has been most upsetting is the lack of continuity of care and communication. Dr. Chaudhri is currently out of the office, and we were told there is effectively no escalation path for two days. We cannot even obtain our dog’s X-rays or medical records promptly in order to seek treatment from another veterinarian. When a pet is still suffering after surgery, owners should not be left without answers, support, or access to records needed for continued care. We understand complications can happen, but the inability to reach someone who can help or authorize records during an ongoing medical issue has been extremely stressful and disappointing. We have spent over $2k with this Vet and would have expected to have been treated with great after care support - but being out of pocket for 2 days without any means of escalation or even the ability to obtain records is UNACCEPTABLE. Do not use this VET.
We highly recommend Animal Medical Center of Pleasanton. We took our cat in for a dental check, and after the exam they honestly told us that cleaning was not needed. Their pricing was among the most reasonable compared to other clinics in the area, and we really appreciate their honesty and transparency.
