Wow, I cannot thank this place enough for the care they provide to our fur babies! I had to have a same day appointment and they were extremely accommodating. The staff here were very helpful, friendly, and made my baby feel right at home. Dr. Morgan is absolutely amazing and I will certainly be back to visit her!! My babygirl left with lots of treats, love, and care. Would recommend this place anytime.

EXCELLENT experience at Valley Dog & Cat Hospital! Dr. Scherr and her staff were absolutely amazing when my Yorkie/Bichon became very sick. Dr. Scherr took the time to thoroughly explain all of his tests and results, which I really appreciated, and the medications she prescribed worked wonderfully. I was also very impressed by how kind, caring, and professional the entire staff was. They were able to get us in for a next-day appointment, which meant so much during a stressful time. My dog has definitely found his new vet, and I couldn’t be happier with the care we received!

We are newer clients of Valley Dog and Cat. We have seen both Dr. Morgan and Dr. Scherr for our two cats. I write this with appreciation for what Dr. Scherr, and the staff involved, did for us when we rescued an abandoned animal from the woods during the rough weather. They were compassionate, attentive and human, especially today, when we thought the animal was actively dying today. They knew exactly what to do and accommodated us quickly even though we were not on the schedule. The results were positive and the prognosis for now was better than expected. We were confident that even if things had gone south, they would be there for us given the circumstances. They are a smaller established practice with a personal touch and decent human beings. Even if they do not provide a service there, they make sure patients are connected with where to get it and they make the time to help research the needs. That is increasingly rare now from other practices we have encountered. They get why it’s important, and it is important to them. It is worth recognizing this and saying so.

We are so lucky to have found Valley Dog & Cat Hospital. The love and care that they give our pet family is so special! They have always gone above and beyond to work with us whether there was a critical issue or just every day questions. The office staff is one of the best I've seen. They are kind and funny and always treat our pets like their own. When choosing a practice to care for your pets, you look for someone that will be caring, promote good care practices, and be able to give you sound advice on both sides of an issue. I have found that to always be the case there. They have rallied with us through the difficult moments and helped us celebrate the good ones. Thanks Valley Dog & Cat Hospital!

I just moved to the area and I’ve being calling around to find a decent price vet for my new fur baby, I called in and they had availability ! Everyone was so sweet and this office was super affordable! I will definitely be back ❤️

Hands down THE BEST!!! You can feel that everyone in there adores animals from the moment we walk through the door. Sam and Luna are both greeted with as much excitement as they show back. We moved an hour away but have decided it's worth the drive to stay with this clinic! 10/10 recommend!

12/2/2025 update: Valley’s Dog and Cat Hospital response is not accurate. They did not offer me a later time that morning or the entire day. I was almost to the point of begging to be fit in and the receptionist emphatically said she will not be seen any time that day. There was no flexibility, no compassion, and no help. I would advise any one considering this animal hospital to keep looking. Original Review: I have been a client at Valley Dog and Cat for over seven years. Even after moving to Southern Maryland, I continued driving more than an hour and a half to bring my senior dog here because I trusted the care. Unfortunately, my recent experience made it clear it was time to move on. I was running a little late due to the long drive and called while on the way. I was already very close to the office when I was told my dog could no longer be seen. She is fifteen years old and was not feeling well. There was no flexibility or willingness to work us in at any point even after I shared how far I traveled, and I lost $75 deposit while still having a sick dog who needed attention. When I requested her medical records, they were emailed promptly, and that was the end of our time as patients. The situation was handled abruptly, especially considering the long history we had with the practice. I contacted Banfield right away and they saw her the next day. They diagnosed a UTI and started treatment immediately, and she is already doing better. They also noted some concerns that were not previously mentioned during her care at Valley Dog and Cat. I understand policies and schedules, but consistency and compassion are important in veterinary care, particularly for senior pets. After this experience, I have chosen to continue her care elsewhere.
