Our Miniature Schnauzer was having bloody diarrhea. We called ahead and brought her in. She had pancreatitis and was in critical condition! Everyone was VERY kind and they clearly care about the animals, and there was excellent communication about how she was doing, what they were doing for her, and what to expect going forward. They gave us low and high estimates, which would be decided on what care she ended up needing. She is doing great now and is back to her old self. ❣️ My only "complaint" is the cost. I understand emergency vets charge more than a regular vet, and they give you options like applying for Care Credits" (and one other I don't remember) which is what we did. Our bill ended up being about $2,400. If you don't have that available to you on a debit or credit card, and have poor credit, you and your animal are out of luck. I truly understand why they want payment up front--I really do. But think about how you would feel if your animal would die without their help and you can't pay on the spot. This would be the case for ANY emergency vet, not just this one. I don't know what the answer is for that. I think not charging so much would help, but that seems pretty unlikely.

Above and beyond! Brilliant and well versed in cats! Kings and considerate! Caring and understanding! From the brilliant front desk lady who knew my needs for insurance and the front desk staff who took us in to the techs, staff and Doctors, we were impressed. It takes a good team for a furry child to heal as fast as Elvis did. Elvis thrives on attention and tho they were busy with others, they always acknowledged him and gave him head rubs. I know this because he came home calm and happy! With the consistent up to date communications we were always comfortable with him there and able to visit each day except the last one. Thank you all at UPC for your diligence and love of our Elvis and sending him home healed! With a child you have loved since birth and they suddenly quit eating and walking, you want the best and I knew that my local vet was closing and had no one overnight; hence, we called UPC Omaha and they got us in less than 2 hours. They took our Elvis back and returned with a diagnoses and plan. It was less than 30 minutes and he was very sick with a UTI and enlarged bladder. He is now home climbing up and down the cat climb and eating and cuddling again! Elvis is 11-12 and will live at least 10-15 more years thanks to UPG! NOT: before sick and after bright eyed and healthy!

I was distraught, my Frenchie didnt want to walk much, looked glazed over eyes, didn't want treats. Took him to a Vet, they sent me home with antibiotics for an infection. Later that evening I'm upstairs getting his dinner, and there was loud screaming, as if he was in pain, I touched him and he screamed louder, I didn't know what to do. I contacted Urgent PetCare, they had me come right in. They got me in a room right away. They cared for my pet asap. I was sobbing as I remembered his screams. The Dr came in, was still in tears, she asked if she could hug me, yes of course. She cared, explained everything they were going to do, and took Nemo off to find the source of his pain. Well they did, at least I had answers. Dr Melissa Edloff was simply AMAZING. Yes its a business, but I didn't feel like that was number one. The priority was to get my baby better. Longer story short, I highly recommend them. This morning my Nemo, has sparkle in his eyes feeling better. Bed rest for 2 weeks will be hard for us both. But my heart soars, knowing he will recover as best as he can, given his diagnosis. Thank you so much Dr. Edloff.

Short and simple: UPC helped save my dog's life. For me, that says it all. What I appreciated most is the fact that their care stabilized her enough so that she could be transferred to the VCA where they finished her path to clinical and biochemical recovery (with neurological rehab yet to come). I honestly thought she was not going to make it (especially because she "crashed" three times). Without those initial two and a half days at UPC, Zella would not be here today.

LONG overdue review as I’ve had the opportunity to utilize their services twice in just under a year. The first was for my kidney disease cat who ingested part of a lily (the worst flower for cats to ingest), and the second for my CHF dog after he collapsed. Both received exceptional care over the 1 or 2 days and nights that they stayed from doctors and staff who were extremely competent, knowledgeable, and compassionate with great bedside manner. The most recent time, Dr. Gyhra and Dr. Yonker took incredible care of my dog Harry, but unfortunately I don’t recall which doctors took care of my cat earlier this year. Both times, everyone was very responsive via text and phone call updates, sent pictures, and even let us come visit. Very prompt as well - I called my primary vet to schedule a follow up appointment less than an hour after we left, and they already sent my dog’s records to his vet, as well as two specialists. They explained thoroughly and effectively, and they quickly come up with detailed treatment plans with a range of prices based on different treatment routes. Prices are very reasonable, and anyone in these reviews saying otherwise is silly, especially because they’re extremely upfront about the prices. VCA (though still reasonable imo) definitely have higher prices. Anyways thank you for taking such incredible care of my old man who has literally never spent one night away from his people. I felt SO uncomfortable leaving my dog for the night, but they made it so much better and eased my fears.

My dog was always a very adventurous and rambunctious puppy. As such, we had to utilize the services of Urgent Pet Care West on several occasions over the past three years. She received wonderful care at every single visit, including her last. The front desk staff are very efficient and so nice. The waiting room is wide and open and well kept. The exam rooms are very clean but seating could be more comfortable. I love that they are upfront about their pricing. They go over every charge on their estimate and make sure you understand the services they will be providing. Their vets are absolutely amazing! Every single one I’ve dealt with over the years was extremely caring, knowledgeable and very compassionate. Dr Emily Burr, who treated my Loona on serval occasions, is kind and gentle and would always say a prayer to Loona’s good health. Drs. Robyn Vinson and Stephanie Vinson are fantastic as well. If your dog needs to stay for a few hours or even a few days, their staff is sure to keep you informed every step of the way with calls or text messages telling you how your pet is doing several times a day. During our last visit, my Loona was again seen by Dr. Burr. As usual, she was very kind and very thorough in her examination. She explained everything she was doing as she was doing it, and also explained why she was doing it. Unfortunately, my little fur baby didn’t make it, but I am extremely grateful to everyone at this facility for their kindness, their sensitivity, their compassion, and their professionalism above all else.
