The Grand Lake Veterinary Hospital

My dog is almost 17 and in excellent health. I credit Grand Lake vet… great vets, observant, intelligent, kind and clearly care deeply about their patients. The staff is kind and thoughtful and very accommodating to my furbaby (well, furteen) who’s behavioral issues and fear of the vet can sometimes be challenging. Thanks GLV for taking such good care of my dog!

Took my dog here for grooming and a quick check-up, and the staff were really gentle and patient with him. The place looked clean and well-maintained, which made me feel more at ease. Prices are fair, though booking ahead is a good idea since they can get busy.

This is hands down. The best vet clinic in the Bay area That includes San Francisco Marin and the East Bay I say this because every single employee has been exceptional starting with the front desk. The vet tecs our friendly and genuinely love the animals. The doctors take the time with you. They are super smart and good communicators + genuinely care for the animals. I have had animals all my life and work in rescue. I've taken many animals to various vet clinics in the bay area with animals that were not my own. I've gotten to know many veterinarians, most of which have been very good doctors and so many vet offices. However, I've never gone to a vet office where every single thing is handled responsibly friendly professional. I have been going here for about 8 years. Even though I moved to Marin, I still keep them as my main veterinary clinic.

I cannot recommend this clinic enough! Our dog, Tater, recently had to undergo teeth removal surgery, and I was naturally a bit nervous. The entire staff was incredibly kind, professional, and patient with all of my questions (I love being able to text with them post procedure with any questions). You can really tell they care about the animals they treat. Tater is recovering well and seems so much happier. Thank you for the amazing quality of care!

I started going to Grand Lake Veterinary in 2020 right before the pandemic. The facilities are dingy and the staff seemed underpaid and hurried. I should have took that as my red flag, but I continued to go to them until 2022. Their team always seemed annoyed and hurried during, but it was the pandemic and businesses were just keeping up so I let it slide. I kept going to them until they messed up my dog's health travel certificate for an extended international stay. I had to hurry at the last minute to correct everything and get the documents sent overnight. After moving back I tried to give them one more chance, but when booking the appointment it seemed their team was just as overwooked and stressed. I ended up switching to Jack London Pet Hospital for health checks and the SFSPCA for vaccines.

Grand lake vet provided great care for my pet. However the pricing is quite high, some items are redundant (I'm not sure why you need deworming medication, and a fecal test- maybe only test and do medication as necessary). To neuter my pet was upwards of $800- 4x the cost of fully paying the humane society. Otherwise great option

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly Recommended! Grand Lake Veterinary Hospital has been such a gift for our family. Every time we bring our pets in, the staff treats them with so much kindness and genuine care. The doctors explain everything clearly and never make us feel rushed—they really listen, and it shows. The whole place feels warm, calm, and incredibly professional. It’s rare to find a vet where you trust everyone instantly, but that’s exactly how it feels here. Our pets are always in good hands, and we’re grateful to have such a wonderful team in our neighborhood!
