Small Door Veterinary - Upper West Side

I am so happy with the service from Small Door. Since my dog was diagnosed with diabetes I faced many challenges, including losing her eyesight. Small door has worked very well with my insurance company which I can honestly say the other vets did not. My dog now had her eyesight restored and her energy levels back so she enjoys walks. Before she lay around the house sleeping and it was hard to get her to walk. I am grateful to Small Door and Trupanion who are the reason I can write this.

My 10 week old puppy had an amazing first vet experience here!! Dr. Maude and the entire staff were loving and patient with him, and made sure to answer all my questions. I got the "puppy package" which is a flat rate fee upfront for most of his care in the next year, and I look forward to bringing him back for his next checkup.

Best veterinary practice on the UWS. I’ve been to a few different offices over the years, once I went to Small Door I’ve never gone anywhere else. They clearly love animals and offer the best care. My puppy, Milo, loves it here. He has no fear of going to the vet! The experience is amazing for him and great for me.

Can I offer 10 STARS! I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Small Door! After trying four different clinics around Manhattan, I finally found exactly what my pup and I needed. We visited their Upper West Side location, and it genuinely felt like stepping into the future of veterinary care—sleek, welcoming, and so thoughtfully designed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and a sense of genuine care. The front desk team was so friendly and even had treats ready for both pets and humans, making us feel immediately at home. The nurses were incredibly kind and attentive, and meeting the clinic manager left me feeling like my pet’s care was in the very best hands. And Dr. Marie—what an absolute gem! Not only did she expertly address why we were there, but she went above and beyond to talk about nutrition, calorie needs, helpful tips and tricks… She took the time to make sure I felt informed and empowered as a pet parent. What really struck me was how much everyone at Small Door truly cares. It’s so refreshing—and honestly rare—to find a clinic that loves my pet as much as I do. Pumpkin is actually excited to visit the doctor now. Finally! Thank you, Small Door, for making vet visits something we both look forward to.

I really love this vet. I think the membership option is very valuable- especially with the 24/7 telehealth service. As an anxious dog mom, I like that I’m able to ask questions about concerns when they pop up. Their app is also very user friendly and it’s easy to make appointments and keep track of vet records. In person, I find the staff to be friendly and helpful and the facilities are very clean and well maintained.

After years of care at another facility, I decided it was time to move on. I was looking for a place that made both my dog and me comfortable, where I could attend the appointment with my baby, with transparent care and information, and that I could trust. My first visit gave me all of the above. From the welcoming reception to the nurse and of course the doctor, I wish I made the change sooner. Great first impression!
