Brilliant Veterinary Care

After moving to Lincoln Sq my cat Luna became suddenly ill and stopped eating and drinking. I went on the app Nextdoor to read reviews and recommendations of vets in the neighborhood, and even though it was a short bus ride for me, I found Brilliant Veterinary Care to have the best reviews. I brought Luna here, and they did some bloodwork and took a urine sample and found she had a UTI. After 2 antibiotic injections, she was back to her normal self. About a month passed, and the infection returned, and she deteriorated very fast. Another antibiotic shot didn’t help as her kidney values were too high. I had to make the decision to have her put to sleep. I found all the staff from the receptionists, nurses, and doctors to be very kind and show lots of empathy to Luna and myself. I decided to have Luna cremated and have a paw print done, and to my surprise, when I got the bill, they had done the euthanasia shot complimentary . I received her ashes back today and the paw mould, and it was really well presented. I just want to say thank you to all the staff there for doing their best for Luna and for being so kind. My beloved cat Dexter recently passed and I’d like to take this opportunity to say how great the Brilliant team were in taking care of him. Dr. Bayazit never suggested any test or treatment that was unnecessary. She is kind, communicative and empathetic. The nurses are all so knowledgeable and treated him as if he was theirs. I highly recommend this practice for your furry companions.

Dr Bishop and the gang are the best, which is why I keep recommending them to everyone I see, friends, strangers,people at the bus stop. But I probably shouldn’t because then I run the risk of them becoming too popular and I wont get a spot. Screw it, they’re such lovely people and they deserve every oz of goodness that they give to you. Plus, I love animals and I want your precious furry friends to be treated just as well as mine. So trust me when I say you’re in the best hands with Brilliant vets. They really are brilliant, and they really do care!

Doctor Bishop was excellent!!! I was very anxious about vets because of how other vets treated me and my old dog, but docroy B was a dream. He actually listened and wanted to help. There was no fuss, just complete transparency and respect. You can tell this vet is about the animals and people, and not about putting your pet through stressful tests to get more money out of you. Brilliant Vet is absolutely the BEST!! From the minute you walk in, the desk staff are so welcoming and helpful and caring! The Vets are also superb and I always feel beyond comfortable with the care they give to my dog. They also follow up with phone calls after a visit and are also available after hours! I highly recommend everyone taking their beloved animal to Brilliant Vet!

It has taken me almost two months to write this because losing my beloved cat Amada has been incredibly painful. But I wanted to express my deep gratitude to this veterinary office for the exceptional level of care, compassion, and humanity they showed us throughout Amada’s illness and passing. I transferred Amada’s care here in July 2025 after another veterinary experience, and from the beginning Dr.Kutscher and the entire staff provided thoughtful, supportive, and deeply compassionate care. They were incredibly accessible, attentive, and always followed up. They understood that Amada was not "just a pet," but family. The kindness extended far beyond medical care. After Amada passed, I received an orchid and her paw print, gestures that touched me deeply during my grief. I especially want to acknowledge the wonderful staff who supported us with such warmth and tenderness: Karen in administration, Lori helping with messages by phone, Malcolm at the front desk who was always so helpful, Diandra and Julia who were present during Amada’s transition and held such a compassionate space, Nurse Maureen who even helped split Amada’s pills for me, and Cammy who personally delivered Amada’s ashes with such care and dignity. And of course, Dr.Kutscher, whose flexibility, compassion, and supportive end-of-life care meant so much to both Amada and me. I will always be grateful for the kindness, and dignity they showed Amada and for the care they extended to me during this time. 🌈🐈‍⬛

I cannot say enough nice things about Brilliant Veterinary Care. Dr. Bishop is the best vet we have ever had. My cat suddenly developed welts and scabs and started vomiting, wheezing, hiding all day every day, and peeing everywhere but his litter box. Dr. Bishop suspected allergies and gave us a few inexpensive remedies to try first, instead of reccomending expensive allergy meds from the get-go. While the home solutions didn't work, and we ultimately had to cough up for the tailored medicationd, I appreciated that he exhausted all options before referring the most expensive treatment. I have had vets charge me hundreds of dollars for tests that didn't need to be run, medications that didn't need to be prescribed, and even medications I never picked up. Brilliant Vetrinary Care is NOT like that. They don't take advantage of you, which can be an easy thing to do when someone just wants their baby to feel better. I am SO happy to say that my cat is now thriving. He isn't 100% better, and I don't suspect he ever will be (turns out, he is severely allergic to just about everything). But with the tailored treatment plan, he is no longer vomiting, his personality is back (I forgot how much he loves snuggles), and for the most part, he uses the litter box. Thank you SO much Dr. Bishop for genuinely changing my cat's life. Also, huge thank you to all of the incredible people who work the front desk. They are always so polite, considerate and professional. Brilliant Vetrinary care is truly THE best.
