Western Hills Animal Medical & Surgical Clinic

We absolutely love Western Hills! The staff is so friendly, and Dr. Buchanan is the BEST! She is so loving to our dogs and gets down on the floor to give them kisses. We have one dog dealing with heart issues and the other with allergies, and we feel that the staff listens to our concerns without us feeling rushed. I appreciate that they tell us of costs upfront, so we are never caught unaware by the bill. I highly recommend them!

We have been going to Dr. Kauz for almost 13 years now. He always provides amazing care for our Sammey girl. He and his team take such great care of her every time she comes to visit. I’ve never had a dog more excited to go to the vet—if we ever say "Dr. Kauz," she immediately jumps up and runs to the door. Dr. Kauz has performed many surgeries, including ACL surgery, cancer removal, and removing the hardware from her original surgery when her body started to reject it after almost four years. His expertise is top-notch, and we are so thankful. Sammey turned 13 this month and still has full mobility—she runs and sprints with no visible pain or discomfort. This is a truly long-overdue thank you to Dr. Kauz, Chelsea, and all the Western Hills staff, who are always kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable.

We moved from Georgia to Texas and it took us a while to find a vet we felt comfortable with. Took our 3 boys (dogs) last week for their shots. Also, our senior boy needed testing for his thyroid. We have chihuahua and chihuahua mixes. I'm sure everyone knows how they can be. Dr. Kaas was AMAZING! He was so patient with them. And treated them with kindness. Definitely will be going back. Thank you so much. If I could, I'd give you 10 STARS!!!!

Dr. Kaaz and the staff at Western Hills are wonderful! I recently moved to the Conroe area to take care of my aging mother when the health of my 18 year old cat named Alex was declining. It was time to put her to sleep which is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. The genuine care, concern and compassion we received was exceptional. I started having second thoughts and Dr. Kaaz patiently walked me through the agonizing decision process. His kind words helped me to do the right thing for Alex. The staff mailed me a beautiful sympathy card that they signed with comforting words. A week later, my 16 year old Morkie named Olivia got really sick. Dr. Kaaz fit her into his busy schedule that morning, and he and his technician spent almost an hour examining Olivia and talking me through her diagnosis. It felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when Olivia and I left the appointment. And again, the care, comfort and follow up we received went above and beyond. I’m so relieved and grateful to have Olivia’s care in the hands of Dr. Kaaz and his staff through her final years with me.

Western Hills had cared for my animals for over 15 yrs. They are always considerate of our needs and take exceptional care of our animals throughout their lives and helped us when it was time to ease their suffering when it was time. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic and the care that Dr. Katz and his staff provide!

My little Penny had to have a dental procedure and a toenail cut-back. She was treated wonderfully, no stress when I picked her up, and got along fine when we got home. They called and checked on her, which I appreciate. All of the personnel at Western Hills is exceptional. Although my vet is James Kaaz, I have gone in a couple of times with an emergency when he was busy with another animal or not there. The other veterinarian treated Penny, and she was exceptional as well. I highly recommend Western Hills--you will be pleased with your fur baby's treatment.

We were very happy with the treatment our fur baby received. The technician and Doctor spent time with Buddy and us to explain all that was done in a professional and pleasant manner. The facilities were clean and the procedures professional.
