Westside Veterinary Hospital and Dr. King was well-recommended when I had my first rescue Collie after retiring. I’ve been going there ever since, about 14 miles away, even after Dr. king retired and Dr. Steve Hathcock took the practice. I’ve been well-satisfied with Dr. Steve and his staff and their care of my dogs. It’s gratifying to feel that they have my pups best interest at heart!

I had to find a vet ASAP so after reading the reviews and realizing this business is roughly 3 miles from my home, I took my Miniature Schnauzer to get checked out. The overall experience & service was fantastic. They took good care of our precious little guy. The doctor was very clear and precise about the problem we have been having with our 🐶since our visit 2-3 weeks ago, our Deejay is doing great and back to his normal life 💗 all thanks to the staff at Westside Vet❤️🙏🏾

I just want to start off with saying how amazing everyone who works there is, especially Dr. Steve! My diabetic cat sol has been coming here for 2 years and there’s no other place I’d take him. Dr. Steve truly cares about his patients and puts any animal is his care as his first priority. You can tell he truly cares about helping your furry pet. The staff have shown selfless acts to aid me and my cats even when it’s been an emergency They also have very affordable prices! Which relives so much stress with your finances if you have a pet that has constant health problems. I want to express again how appreciative I am with the whole staff, so thank you to Janie, Brittany, Misty, Dana, and Dr. Steve !

Dr Steve is professional and patient. My dog, Porter, has been going to Westside for about 6 months, and we have had to make more than our fair share of visits. My dog is a sweet boy, but gets very nervous at the vet and is now becoming acclimated and comfortable with everyone at Westside, and they treat him very well. 10/10 would recommend. Edit: after being a client for over 2 years now at this clinic with my dog, Porter, I can truly say that I feel satisfied in the care that he is receiving. The staff is always very kind. I always have a lot of questions and often send emails with my concerns, and while they stay quite busy throughout the day, they are still responsive. Porter has gone through ear infections, cancerous tumor removal, dental cleaning, regular checkups, vaccination upkeep etc..... For whatever reason my dog never seems to be able to catch a break, so for us it has not been cheap.... But there is something invaluable about having the Peace of mind that your best friends medical team seems engaged and caring toward your pet/companion.

Dr. King has been my Vet since 2013 when I got my 2 chihuahuas. He is working towards retirement now and sold the practice to Dr.Steve. It’s bitter sweet, but I appreciate and admire Dr. King enough to know that it is time to step down. He deserves to retire and rest. Dr. Steve has been so loving and compassionate with my pets. He’s made me feel like family and works purely out of his heart. Always making room for those who need their pets seen. I love the place and am always pleased with their work.

my senior dog needed a last minute appointment and they were able to accommodate us the following morning. the vet and vet tech, Dana, were thorough, gentle, and personable. my dog had a bit of anxiety but they were able to put her at ease. she even got comfortable and laid down! LOL. we are so grateful and will absolutely be back! 5/5 highly recommend!

Dr Steve literally saved my dogs life! We have a 16 year old Border Collie mix, Colt, that had a mass. It was growing quickly and we knew he didn’t have a lot of time. We talked through all of the options and weighed the possible (heartbreaking) outcomes. We opted to do exploratory surgery to remove the mass not knowing what it was connected to. We took all precautions and prepared ourselves for the worst….which included family pictures and a steak dinner for our sweet old man. Colt was still so lively, it just didn’t seem right to do nothing or to put him down….didn’t have the heart for that. Dr Steve and his staff were amazing with him. They were able to remove the 4.5 lbs mass (yeah you read that right) and his spleen and he is doing amazing!!! He runs around more now than he did before the mass. He was given the gift of life. We understand that this is not always how it goes but are extremely grateful for Westside Vet and all of the caring hands that lead to Colt’s extended life. Thank you!!!
