I first found Helping Hands Vet Clinic 15 years ago on a Saturday when I needed walk-in hours. From that very first visit, Dr. Guidry became — and has remained — my veterinarian of choice. Over the years, I’ve brought generations of pugs through these doors, always knowing they would be treated with compassion, patience, and respect. I deeply appreciate Dr. Guidry’s knowledge and her consistently thoughtful, measured approach to care. She ensures decisions are guided by what is medically appropriate and truly in the best interest of the dog — never by unnecessary intervention or cost. Our appointments never feel rushed, and there is always time to talk through every concern. From intricate surgeries to behavioral guidance — and even through unexpected, heartbreaking loss — Dr. Guidry has been there for us. She has supported our dogs and our family through it all, and over the years, she has come to feel like part of our family. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with their care. And the atmosphere? It truly feels like Cheers — but for vet clinics. A place where everyone knows you, your dogs are greeted with familiarity, and you walk in feeling welcomed and cared for every single time.

Dr Nicki was great! It was our first time meeting her in the walk in clinic on a Saturday. She was wonderful with our cat Suki and did great phone and email follow up. The vet assistant and front desk support were wonderful as usual! Warm Regards, See you next time! Andrea, Dan, Suki ❄️🎄☃️

Had a great experience here today. Brought my cat in because he'd been vomiting, but the Doctor Kellie was honest and told me that since he was doing fine now and it had been a couple days ( and we knew it was because of his food that day), an exam probably wasn't necessary. She saved me around $100 by not charging for something that didn't need to be done. Super professional, kind, and clearly puts the animals (and their owners) first over making a quick buck. Highly recommend!

We've been clients at Helping Hands for 5 years now, and on my most recent visit I was reminded what a special veterinary practice this is! Our large dog is reactive to other dogs and even routine procedures can feel stressful to him, much less vaccinations and blood draws. The staff is always helpful in finding an exam room and appointment time that reduces his stress level, and the technicians and Dr. Guidry are always so kind and patient with him. They create a really comfortable environment and I never feel rushed. I really appreciate how much time they take to listen and learn about how things are going for us and our dog, which is so helpful in developing a treatment plan that everyone feels good about. They even go over the costs with you before providing treatment, which is incredibly helpful and makes the check-out process very easy. I really appreciate all that they do to help their patients feel valued and cared for.

Horrible vet, they lie and don’t help at all! They had one good doctor but Dr. Helen Ghil is not a good vet for low income people. This vet office is geared for people who cannot afford care for their animals but are need of care for emergencies. I am not one to leave review but the way they have handled multiple situations with people I know I can no longer stay silent. They make claims they can help or work with whatever budget you have but when you go in they will just look and do nothing. Then if you go back again because your animal is getting worse, Dr. Ghil will say you are abusing your animal, not taking care of them but it’s really the horrible diagnosis of the vet not the at home care. Multiple of my friends have cared and love their animals having them for 6 plus years to be told they are horrible owners even one of them getting the cops called and taken away from her! Crazy!!! Do not take your pet here, especially to this Dr.Ghil she does not care about the animals just getting a paycheck. If this has happened to you with them you should start a lawsuit and call the better business bureau to get her license taken away. This is not right taking away pets from not only owners but their family including children who grew up with them. How can a parents explain this to their kids?

First time at Helping Hands Veterinary Clinic location. Let me start off by saying "Super friendly staff", very polite, helpful and understanding. The vet doctor was amazing. Great wealth of knowledge for me. Very grateful to have had this opportunity to talk with her and the staff. I was given Great advice and care. The staff also gave me handouts and things to work on at home to help her stress. First times for a puppy can be difficult the staff overlooked this behavior and I highly recommend them and I will go over all the information given. I look forward to visiting and taking my dog here for years to come. One last thing prices are extremely reasonable omg. Best ever! They also have an app which makes life easy to keep up with vaccines and appointments (to do list as well) I highly recommend downloading the app!
