Unfortunately, I have had to use Dr. Au's service twice within about a 2 month span, for both of my 14+ year old cats that were diagnosed with cancer. As with most pet parents, I agonized over making the decision, and even more over what the actual process would consist of and feel like. But there is a reason I called Dr. Au back for a second time, the amount of care and empathy she exudes while simultaneously providing insight into both of their conditions, gave me the confirmation I was so desperately seeking; that I was doing the right thing at the right time. Her demeanor and bed side manner is unmatched, and the exact thing someone facing this situation needs. While I hope I will not need her services for awhile again, if I do, I won't use anyone else and recommend her to anyone facing this heartbreaking scenario.
My husband and I want to express how deeply grateful we are to Dr. Au, who came today to help us say goodbye to our beloved cat. From the moment she arrived, she was so gentle with our cat—she even took time to play with him and gave him a small treat to help keep him calm. She walked us through every step with such care and patience, and her warmth gave my husband and me so much peace in this heartbreaking time. She ensured our cat had a dignified, loving farewell, and we will never forget her kindness and support. Thank you, Dr. Au, from the bottom of our hearts.
As all of us know, losing a pet is one of the most heartbreaking experiences. Sadie was my girl. Thank goodness for Dr. Au and her team. From the moment I met Dr. Au she provided me, my husband, and Sadie with kindness, compassion, empathy, and support. To be able to be with my girl in our home was such a gift. Sadie was surrounded by love, her family, and comfort. It was so peaceful. Thank you Dr. Au. Mae and Richard
Dr. Au facilitated a beautiful, peaceful passing for our sweetest cat, Periwinkle. Her expertise, professionalism, and kind nature were evident from the moment she entered our space. She provided information and empathy throughout the entire visit. I’m so grateful to have given my furry daughter loving, gentle relief from a lot of pain, and Dr. Au gave us that more than I could have imagined.
Our dog Baxter had been diagnosed with oral cancer (fibrosarcoma) 6 months prior and we felt it was time to send him over the rainbow bridge as he was beginning to suffer. It’s the hardest part of being a dog owner and we were dreading saying goodbye to him. We decided for euthanasia at home so Baxter could be in his own bed and surroundings. Dr Au immediately put us at ease and spent a few minutes stroking Baxter and talking to him. She also explained how he could easily have deteriorated further, had we not come to this decision. This was very good to hear and it did somewhat put our minds at rest along with Dr Au’s very calming presence which was much appreciated. She explained in detail how the process would go and was extremely gentle with Baxter throughout. He fell asleep quickly in his own bed and passed shortly afterwards. Dr Au was very respectful of Baxter even following his passing and gently handled his body. She also felt his lymph nodes and said it felt as if the cancer had most likely spread. Another weight off our minds, knowing we had made the right decision for Baxter. What I really liked about Dr Au was her professional and yet caring approach under very emotional circumstances. She moved the procedure along when needed but also gave us the time to properly say goodbye to our boy. We would HIGHLY recommend Dr Au and Gold Cost.
Worthy of a hundred stars. The kindness I was shown was immeasurable. I used her services to put my senior dog Elvis to rest, one of the hardest decision I ever had to make. It was an extra heartbreaking moment, as Elvis had been my husband's dog for 20 years, and my husband had passed away just months before. I knew I was going to be a wreck. She was so kind and gentle, empathic, and patient. I felt she understood that I was in the depths of grief. I was surrounded by some of my BFFs who had helped me throughout the painful year, and she fit in as if she was one of us, a friend we already knew. The process was as smooth and gentle as such a painful moment can be, thanks to her knowledge and care. She explained the process and gave me time to ask questions. She didn't rush out after, she gave us plenty of time. We made sure Elvis's kitty sisters got to say goodbye, and that we got to have some final moments with him. She wrapped him carefully in blankets in a basket and handled him with love and respect. His ashes were returned with care as well. I know it takes a special kind of person to do this kind of work and Dr. Au is that special person. I am so grateful for everything. ❤
Dr. Au was a blessing for us. I will forever be grateful for the care she took with our big guy, Franklin. It was such a difficult decision and she handled everything with grace and care. She has a gift and I am so thankful she helped us in our time of need.
