Primary Care Animal Hospital - Bixby Knolls

I took my cat "Honey" into the vet because I noticed a tooth missing-this was very alarming mind you and came as a terrible surprise considering how well my mother and I take care of her teeth. I immediately made an appointment for the next day and were greeted by the most calm, and caring staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! Dr. Dani Gonzalez was no exception, she approached the topic of her inflamed gums with sensitivity as to not cause us further anxiety. We asked her a MILLION questions but she never got annoyed and answered each one while also making sure Honey was comfortable. At the end, she gave us antibiotics for her mouth and some medicine for pain. The price for the visit, and both meds were extremely reasonable, especially compared to other vets around Long Beach. Sure enough the antibiotics helped MASSIVELY in controlling the inflammation on her gums and she seems to be in way less pain!! Everyone at this location works very well to provide professional, personable, & compassionate care to our dear little babies. The front staff receptionists are polite and highly efficient in scheduling, checking in, and getting us either placed into a vet checkup room or coordinated with a technician for services. Dr. Kate and Dr. Yadira are understanding of any conditions my doggie might be experiencing and they provide valuable diagnostics & guidance for treatment. We have been visiting this location for over 3 years and plan to continue relying on them for veterinary care in the future.

I took my two cats here for maybe a decade, and Dr. Kate is the best. She was super understanding of not only how important my cats were to me, but also budget restrictions and quality of life. They helped me when we had a short-lived scare with kidney disease for one cat without pushing treatments or tests. I had to put my other cat down due to mobility issues and quality of life, and they worked with me to find all the new treatment options, and didn’t judge when I changed a laser therapy appointment to euthanasia after many months of good days vs bad days. Iykyk. I can’t recommend them enough. The parking lot is kind of small.

Dr. Garcia is amazing, and I feel so lucky to have her on the care team for my kitties. Big thanks to Jenna for helping get Potato seen last minute. And the entire staff are all friendly, kind, and compassionate. Thank you everyone for all that you do! I also really appreciate that the exam fee and diagnostics are fairly priced.

I’ve seen 3 different vets with 2 different animals here and I’ve always had great experiences. The front counter has been courteous and professional, the techs are kind and patient with my difficult dog and the doctors have always explained things to me in easy-to-understand terms and answer all my questions thoughtfully. I’m so happy with the team at Bixby Knolls and will continue bringing my pets here for the foreseeable future.

We have taken our cats and dogs here for several years now. 3 of the 4 are senior animals. All 3 vets, as well as the entire staff, are friendly, caring and compassionate. It is clear they love animals and care about their families. It is easy to communicate with them and to schedule appointments.

My cat had an emergency and I was able to get him seen immediately! He ended up needing surgery and Dr. Garcia was wonderful. All the staff was a pleasure and most importantly my pet is all better!
