VCA Decatur Animal Hospital

Horribly bad place. Made me reschedule only 10 mins late. Cares about time and getting money not animals. Scum place avoid.

Just saw Dr. Hoyt! First time at this animal hospital for me & Titan (my GSD of 13 weeks old). There are no words to describe how professional & clean this facility is…. They set the bar folks! Period! I wish I had known about them with my GSD Fonz (before he passed) because my experiences valley wide have been very lacking in satisfaction. VCA, however, exceeded my expectations (I’m old school at 57 years so this is saying a lot). Dr Hoyt was very friendly, knowledgeable, NOT IN A HURRY to shuffle us out, really took her time to examine & explain the VCA new client process, and just an overall, experienced and customer friendly individual! I’ll be a customer for life! Staff is also very friendly & knowledgeable; they really invest the time into their clients!!! I highly recommend this facility!!!

The entire Staff are awesome and alway taken care of both my Rottweilers. When my oldest (13) gave out and couldn't get up they came to my home to put him down which I appreciated him being able to pass at home. Thank you to everyone for always taking such great care of my boys.

I just want to start out by saying, I am no easy person to deal with especially if something is wrong and I have anxiety, and I'm having all these or racing thoughts, and I'm talking fast I don't know what I'm doing I'm just not thinking correctly I would like to give Sandra 10 star rating because she knows how to talk to a person like me who needs to just calm down and take a deep breath and not overwhelm myself I just really want to say thank you for all your help you did right now and I can't wait until my appointment on the 22nd. Your amazing.

Sandra is an amazing person. I'm not way anywhere easy to deal with. That's just who i am. If you know you know. Any ways this ain't about me this is about Sandra. Talk about someone who knows how to talk to somebody who is freaking out who is not taking a deep breath and thinking things out. Especially when you're thinking about your animal who you see at your child. And just going crazy and how soft and calm your voice is really made a difference and I want to say thank you so much for how you treated me on the phone and how you you put things into a different perspective for me I really appreciate your kindness we need more people out here in this world like you maam.

I need to be completely transparent: do not waste your time with this veterinary hospital. The doctor has a nasty attitude that I will not tolerate. My dogs were only brought there for rabies shots, and apparently she has a problem with the fact that I took them back to South Buffalo, where they have been patients since birth, where their full medical records are kept, and where the doctors actually have couth and decorum when dealing with people and their animals. I do not have patience for anyone’s nasty attitude. I just landed back in Vegas from Thailand and I will be stopping by in person to ask her directly what her problem is. On top of her attitude, she took it upon herself to contact the USDA regarding the health certificate before I even had the opportunity to reach out to them myself. I was already navigating challenges with bringing my dogs back from Thailand. Nobody asked her to make that call. She does not represent me. She made it crystal clear on the phone that since she only administered the rabies shots and did not complete the health certificate itself, I should not even be contacting her. So explain why she is calling on my behalf and discussing my situation with a federal agency. She wants to have that energy over the phone but we already know how that changes face to face. I will be there within the next 24 to 48 hours. Please have that same energy when I arrive. I am also exploring legal options because I believe she violated my privacy by contacting the USDA about my dogs when she did not even complete the health certificates. That is not her place, that was not her call to make, and there will be accountability for it.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR YOUR PETS!!! I have posted this from a different account from our original appointment for privacy reasons. I went due to the free first appointment promo for my elderly cat. She currently was not presenting any major symptoms but we did bring up some concerns and was told during our first appointment she may have multiple possible severe conditions. Although we acknowledged her age contributing to these factors we were baffled at the possibly that she had irreversible damage. We were quoted over $1,000s of tests and were told it was urgent and she could possibly be in critical condition. Of course my family was worried but could not afford such a high cost with CareCredit, the next day we took her to another vet for a second opinion and were told she had absolutely no health issues or were even close to the suggested conditions given by the vets at this hospital. The cost was much lower at multiple different hospitals across Las Vegas for the same tests when I had called around. The stress, time, money and heartbreak WAS NOT WORTH THE FIRST FREE APPOINTMENT. Please support some of the smaller and honest animal hospitals here in Las Vegas!!!!!! Update: The generic reply even though I stated I am commenting from another account should tell you enough about how they read their reviews. Months later, my cat is healthy, happy and doing well! No health conditions or diseases as mentioned from this hospital, again I cannot recommend this hospital at all!!!
