Lafayette Animal Emergency Clinic

Unbelievable staff and service!! We arrived on Saturday night with our 16 year old, ten pound terrier, Jax, who had been mauled in a dog fight by a dog five times his size. Jax was in extreme pain with open puncture wounds on his chest, laceration of his left leg, and a broken orbital bone of his right eye. The staff quickly stabilized him and by late on Saturday night Dr. Denise IsRalson had taken Jax into surgery to X-ray his body for damage and repair his injuries. Throughout the night we called to check on his condition. The doctor spoke to us each time, reassuring us that Jax was peaceful and alert after the procedures. We expected to pick him up on Sunday morning but when we called to confirm, Dr. Denise told us that she had observed an apparent 'air pocket' in Jax's chest that required more treatment and close monitoring. He spent another night in the hospital before we picked him up on Monday morning. Jax is not back to normal yet and may still lose his left eye if it does not heal, but he is alive, alert, and ready to share the rest of his life with us. They took such amazing care of my Pasta. My pug got into a pack of gum ( which contained xylitol). I know as dog parents we are always worried about chocolate being deadly, that we sometimes forget about the others. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs and its found in so many household items other than just food items. After realizing she ingested the gum, I called right away and they had me come right in. The second I walked in the door they took her straight to the back to start treating her. If it wasn't for them acting so swiftly I dont think we would have the outcome we did. Thank you to the whole staff for saving my Pasta.

I brought my baby kitten in because I woke up to her basically dying. She was hardly breathing. Couldn't get her to move. I called and they told me to bring her in so I did. This was at 6 o'clock in the morning. They failed to tell me that they closed in two hours So they start working on her and the vet is like she's not likely to make it. Would you just wanna put her down and the way she explained it to me I almost said yes, but I decided to tell her to keep trying, and I'm glad that I did because now she's okay, but then they came back and told me that she's only a little bit better but she still needs care and that they're closing so I have to take her and bring her elsewhere. THEY HANDED ME BACK MY KITTEN WHEN SHE NEEDED CARE. I feel as though they should've told me that they didn't have enough time to do what was done. so i could've taken her elsewhere and all be done at one place and I only pay once.. I still had to pay this vet hundreds of dollars then take her elsewhere to be treated again!! so double the money when I could have went somewheres else to begin with!

They were very helpful when my little bean had a seizure and fell from the second story to the first. She was seen quickly and treated with care. Very grateful to them!

COME HERE FIRST! This place is heaven-sent! My almost 12-year-old mini schnauzer was attacked by a pit bull, and after going to a different ER vet on Johnston where the emergency was not prioritized, I called Lafayette Animal Emergency Clinic. They immediately told me they take animal attacks seriously, so I rushed over. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by caring staff who quickly took my dog to the back for treatment. They were compassionate and professional, kept us informed every step of the way, and most importantly, had my dog sedated, shaved, cleaned, and stapled up in no time. I will always come back here and 100% recommend others to COME HERE FIRST! Thank you to this caring team for bringing care and comfort in our time of need.

Dr. Moreau and staff were fantastic with our orange cat Jack on Feb 22/23 2026 when he was in pain with his stomach and bowels and hind part. He made an incredible recovery. We were so fortunate they were there for us! Thanks to all of them from Linda and Mike Bigler!! They are a blessing!

dr moreau has been an angel to the allemond family. recently our 1yr old doberman rhiley decided to eat a sock and emergency surgery was our only option. dr moreau was so compassionate and made sure we were updates every step of the way. he saved our girls life! it could have ended badly but dr moreau wasted no time to act on emergency surgery. rhiley is recovering beautifully and lives to find another sock. doc. moreau has saved my cats life befor who was having non stop seizures and is now healthy n thriving till this day. i recommend this hospital to any and everyone. they love and care for your animals as if it were their own. doc moreau is an prime example that humanity does exsist in this world. thank you to doc moreau and his staff for saving my rhiley girls life and for loving and caring for her.
