My poor dog ripped his ear in half! He was racing with the neighbors dogs and caught his ear in the fence. There was so much blood. Thankfully, we were able to bring him here and it was such an easy process. Since he was actively bleeding, they triaged us immediately. Everyone was kind, calm, & reassuring. They place is clean and organized. They were able to easily and clearly break down all the costs in the estimates provided and let me know of all the possible risks & complications without giving me false hope. They were able to stitch up my dog and bandage him really well. Even though my dog roughly shook off the bandages the next day. But my primary vet said they did a very good job with the bandages and the stitches. It’s now 3 days post op, and his ear is healing so well. I’m grateful to the team that worked on my dog and to still have him here with me. Highly recommend Dr. Steen.

Absolutely loved this place! I had an emergency with my cat Cheeto who had puncture wounds to his head. Everyone was fast, friendly, and attentive despite it being a busy morning! They made sure to check in and give me updates throughout the day. Shout-out to everybody who provided such excellent care to my cat! I think my doctor's name was Kristin. I would 100% recommend this place.

I took my dog in because he started having seizures. There was a wait, which I expected. However, when he started to seize in the room, the staff came in immediately and administered meds and took him back. The Doctor came in and explained everything and told me everything they were doing for him. They also explained the cost prior to everything. He stayed overnight and got the best care from everyone there! I can't recommend Wake Veterinary Medical Center enough! I have him back at home and he's doing much better. I am so thankful for the Veterinarian and all of the Technicians that helped my Odin!

We were referred here to see Dr Santos about an intra oral mass in our dogs mouth. He was very caring and frank about his professional opinion and options for treatment. Unfortunately, the treatment options were not great for our dog. His bedside manner as well and his explanation of the diagnosis of oral melanoma and options was very good. We left knowing that there is nothing else we can do. Thomas the tech and front desk staff were also very caring. We were scheduled quickly upon the referral being placed. The office was clean and calming music was played. I would highly recommend. Thank you

Our primary care vet recommended us to Wake Veterinary Medical Center. From our first consultation with Dr. Doka, to surgery with Dr. Santos, we were completely amazed with the skill, knowledge, and compassion of the entire staff. EVERYBODY here is not only so friendly and compassionate, but incredibly professional. Our boy Groucho has had us here a lot over the last 1-2 months, and I have had plenty of time to observe how they are always ready to handle anything from an upset stomach to having to immediately pivot to life-threatening situations. I've had plenty of questions, but everyone was always willing to help educate us or just chat to take our minds off the stressful situation. I rarely take time reviewing businesses, however, this is a situation where I cannot express how impressed and grateful I am for this fine group of people! I cannot thank this emergency vet hospital enough for the incredible care they provided. From the moment I called, they were extremely responsive and fully prepared for my arrival. My dog was actively seizing for nearly 20 minutes and drifting in and out of consciousness, and they were ready the second I walked through the door. The staff greeted me immediately and rushed him back to stabilize him. They were incredibly supportive, kind, and communicative throughout the entire process. They truly made one of the scariest moments of my life feel more manageable and gave me complete confidence that my dog was in the best hands possible. What really stood out was not only the level of care but also the transparency and fairness in pricing. I had braced myself for a multi-thousand dollar ICU stay (especially after past experiences with NC State Vet charging $3000+ per night), but his overnight stay here was around $1500–$1700. That level of cost efficiency, paired with their life-saving care, is nearly unheard of. They also never tried to upsell or push unnecessary treatments. Every payment or deposit came with a clear breakdown, and I felt respected and informed the entire time. I will 100% bring any of my fur babies here in an emergency. They saved my dog’s life and gave me peace of mind during an incredibly stressful time. Absolutely phenomenal team.

Our Bella had a left tibial plateau leveling osteotomy. We felt confident after Dr Aldrich explained expectations and how to help Bella recover. The staff were very caring and took good care of our brave Bella.
