Had a great experience here! Searching for a vet practice with reasonable fees for dental cleanings and overall care. I was not disappointed. The office does not have bells and whistles which is fine by me because fancy offices mean higher costs. Everyone from reception, techs and doctors were great. Dr. Purcell did my girls long overdue dentals and was professional and kind. She personally came out and reviewed the findings/before and after pics and detailed after care. The cost was very reasonable compared to other estimates I have been given.

New patients here, we wanted a more personable experience and Dr.Purcell and the team here really did that with our 2 fur babies. We have found our new docs and we are so grateful to have found them. Thank you all for taking care of my babies.

Amazing! Super sweet and went over all of my concerns. Anna, my vet tech, was super informed and so loving to my baby. Dr. Grotelueschen was extremely informed too and helped me understand my dog’s allergies more. Overall definitely recommend!!

My escape artist of a fur baby got out and got into a tussle with an outdoor cat and ended up with a nasty open wound to his chest. After taking him to the emergency vet, Smithfield Rd was excellent in his follow up visit. They have been our regular vet for all of our babies since they were kittens. I’m so grateful for their attention and transparency during the whole process. Theo had to return for several bandage changes over a month and they were so helpful with pricing and being considerate of how costly his weekly visits were. Although a stressful ordeal for both parent and fur baby, they loved on my fur baby like he was their own. I can’t thank them enough for getting him back healthy and being so responsive. I recommend Dr.Polu to anyone who is in need of a good vet. A big thank you to Reggie and the receptionist up front as well for being so kind and loving on my baby during his time at Smithfield. Their office is about 25 mins from where I stay now but they will remain my regular vet.

They are great as long as your animals are healthy and just need routine care. Most of the staff is super kind and friendly. If your animals are sick, either get a 2nd opinion or take your pets elsewhere. This is the 2nd time bloodwork was misread here. The most recent time resulted in a $2500 ER vet bill, the ER vet looked at me and said "how did they miss the elevated levels on this CBC" it’s a question I’m still asking myself. The focus seemed to be on masking the issue vs treating it. Thankfully this time our pet is on the mend and we were able to get the help he needed. Just want to caution others if your pet is sick and needs bloodwork and medication.

Dr. Church and staff are amazing. They take good care of our sweet girl Diamond. We had a real life scare and thought we'd possibly lose her a few years back however Dr. Church was determined to get her better. Such an awesome family like practice

We have been taking our kitties to this veterinary clinic for some years now and recently I feel like the service is just not the same. I brought in a stray for a check up and vaccination. The veterinarians were very kind and sweet, however, they told me the cat had not had its first heat yet and she was free of parasites, we gave stool samples and everything. A month later her stomach started to grow and I thought she was just getting fat, turns out she was pregnant, and on top of that we saw tapeworm segments in her stool. ( she was kept inside after the vet so I’m not sure how she would get a tapeworm inside) I took one of my other cats here as well to get an annual check up in January and they gave her a rabies vaccine and a few months later she developed feline injection site sarcoma and she is scheduled to get her hind leg amputated. I’m just disappointed in our recent visits to this clinic and very upset with the results. I just wish they were more thorough with our kitties. I understand that FISS is a very rare type of cancer and it might not be the vets fault but considering our other cat (the pregnant stray), I feel like that case could have gone better. We now have 5 unexpected kittens and mama is housing a tapeworm, and we are about to amputate the leg of my other cat. Another case, my sister took her cat a few years ago because she was covered in fleas. She received a shot and the next day she was lying under the bed extremely lethargic, took her to the vet and they told us that she probably ingested something in the house, when we were very sure there was nothing in the house that the kitty could ingest and cause that kind of reaction. (She’s fine now but she had to stay overnight in the clinic under an iv and it was very scary) Do what you want with this information. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will be coming back here.
