If you are considering using Hopewell, DO IT! The ENTIRE staff is absolutely amazing, from the team up front, techs, the Doctors, and the groomer. We have had nothing but positive experiences in the years we’ve have been with them. Our 17 year old cat, Oreo, passed last year due to cancer. But with the treatment given by her team, we got over a year with her after her diagnosis. We are so grateful for how the staff treated us and our girl all the way to the end. We won’t ever use another clinic if we can help it. They are truly the type of people you want caring for your fur babies! Photos of all of our pets they help keep healthy including our 15 year old pitbull mix and strays Hopewell helped us scan for a possible chip and get treatment for before being adopted out.
Dr. Miller took extra good care of my senior dog, Charm, this morning and was very thoughtful and thorough with her care. Highly recommend this practice for all stages of life in dog/cat care. Charm is home and resting and on the road to feeling better.
We cannot thank Dr. Brown, Sarah, and the entire staff at Hopewell Animal Hospital enough for the compassion and care they showed our family during one of the hardest times we’ve ever faced. We came to Hopewell as a desperate and grieving family after our dog Ruby had been critically injured. We reached out expecting that we might have to say goodbye, but Dr. Brown, Sarah, and the team saw Ruby as a life worth fighting for — not just a price tag. When other veterinary offices talked in terms of thousands of dollars and limited options, Hopewell focused on giving her a chance. They treated us like a grieving family, not a number or a bill. Every employee showed kindness, patience, and genuine compassion. They took time to explain everything and made sure Ruby was cared for with dignity and love. We originally came seeking the end for Ruby, but they wanted to give her a chance — and that means more to us than we can ever express. We will always be grateful to Dr. Brown, Sarah, and the entire Hopewell team for their kindness and for seeing Ruby as family. ❤️
Hopewell will forever be my veterinary practice! They are kind to and care for each patient they receive. They are thorough in their exams and skilled at delivering their care. Absolutely everyone in the clinic is welcoming and kind and humane to every animal and person who comes through their doors.
Everyone is so friendly and caring. My vet had just retired, and of course I had an emergency. Dr Brown was understanding and caring, aa was the rest of the staff. Nothing but good things to say about Hopewell
If you have cats find someone else. Not same proximity, but I would recommend Louisville Cat Clinic on Baxter Ave. this place has disregarded care to my mother’s pet cats and my cats as well. They are dog centered and don’t know how to diagnose cats.
I have been hesitant to post due to the response from the business on some of the other reviews, but I would like to share the story of my sweet girl's experience. Our newly adopted, senior dog was seen at Hopewell 3 times. She was a slow walker due to knee issues, and was given joint and UTI meds and a collection tube for a fecal sample. We came back a few weeks later as she suddenly could not walk at all. We were told that her spine was crushed and that she had 2 options, immediate surgery that cost $5,000-$7,000 that would only be effective if the process was started that day at the emergency vet, or the medical route. I communicated that we could just not afford the surgery and we went to pick up our sweet girl. Being told your dog will likely not walk ever again is hard to hear, but even worse, this was discussed with us in the public waiting room with other owners all around. We obviously had many questions and it felt that we were bothering Dr. Brown and that she did not want to take the time to talk to us. I asked how effective the surgery would be and Dr. Brown said "very." We tried to seek advice on her suffering and we were just told it had to be up to how she presented at home. Again, all in the public lobby. We were given medications and told to come back for a follow up in a week and to make sure that our girl was going to the bathroom regularly. We brought her back in a week and my husband brought the fecal sample that we were advised to bring back during our first visit. Our sweet girl was also supposed to be getting her pee checked/collected during this visit. The sample was taken and it did not seem like Dr. Brown knew anything about it and she did not seem to want to be bothered. This was a Friday and I called back on Monday to see if there were any results on her urine. The person who answered looked in the computer and could not find anything about urine. I received 2-3 calls back before being told that they could not get the pee that day and that her fecal sample was lost. We were not told any of this the day of her appointment. We were told that we would need to bring in another sample. I said we no longer had the collection tube and I was told to bring it in a plastic bag and there was pressure to bring it soon as the 30 days were coming up. At this point, our girl required assistance to poo and it was hard on her. We were also told that our girl would need to come back in for urine collection. We made an appointment for that upcoming Friday afternoon. I then received another call asking me to bring her earlier in the day so pee could be collected successfully. I said this was fine and I was told to not bring her outside that morning or let her pee. This was frustrating as a simple review of our dog's charts would show that she could not walk and required the use of diapers. She could not even go outside to pee. It communicated to me that they did not even review her chart. The day after this call, we had to bring our sweet girl to another vet as she continued to cry out in pain and was miserable. She couldn't sleep and her medications were not helping. She was on 3 meds at this point. At the new vet, we were told that our girl's spine was literally in 2 pieces. This was never told to us at Hopewell. We were told that she had endured some kind of trauma like a car accident and that the surgery ($5,000-$7,000 that Hopewell) recommended would not have been effective unless it had been done right after the trauma, which was before we adopted her. We had to put our sweet girl down as her spine was split in 2 and she was suffering. The new vet was very reassuring and said he would have done the same for his dog. It was a stark contrast from Hopewell. No one at Hopewell called to see why we missed the Friday appt and I waited to see if they would. Nothing. The only communication I have had has not been to follow up, but a text to see if we wanted more meds for our girl. I responded saying she passed away and never heard anything. I don't share this to cause drama, but because my girl deserved better.
