Jax Vets Affordable Animal Hospital at Baymeadows

Absolutely love them!!!! The vet techs and Dr. Mechineni are the best with our babies. They have supported us with all our pet needs that have, at times been, difficult. They have shown us compassion and care which says a lot about how much they understand the love of a pet.

Since we moved to Jacksonville, I only take my dog here. It’s always easy to get a quick appointment, and every visit goes very smoothly. The staff is friendly and professional, and I always feel that my dog is in good hands.

I can’t say enough good things about this veterinary office! They’ve taken such wonderful care of my mini dachshund—from routine checkups to more urgent visits, their team is consistently professional, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. It’s clear they genuinely care about the animals they see. Highly recommend to any pet parent looking for a trustworthy and kind-hearted vet!

We take most of our FUR foster dogs to Dr Amar and love him. He is kind and always very helpful getting even the most sadly sick dogs back into great shape for adoption. The team is always kind and caring. They truly care for all the dogs we bring in and appreciate them always going over and above to see us even with short notice. Great Doctor and clinic team - highly recommend.

This was my first time coming here with my baby. I was so nervous because it’s like that when you’re visiting a new Doctor. I was previously going to the San Marco vet and they were nice, but it was too far of a drive. They handled two cases where my baby needed medication and treatment so I don’t have anything negative to say. I just needed a closer vet. The Doctor here at Jax Vets was so nice. Great hospitality and the techs were super sweet. I didn’t catch their names, but the front desk girl was sweet, the vet tech that was there today talked to me and answered all my questions and made conversation with me. My baby was growling but she and the Doctor and the other tech weren’t phased by it and got everything done. There was another tech in the room and he spoke very quietly and was nice. The difference between here and San Marco was the hospitality and the prices. It is AFFORDABLE. I was always paying $350-400 for the same yearly shots and it was way cheaper here. I was referred to this place by my neighbor who’s dog had surgery and the Doctor and tech told me they have so many surgeries they perform so that was good to here that they are well experienced since my baby will be getting his done soon. Big Thanks to the team and I feel at ease scheduling for my baby’s surgery.

This has been the best place I’ve visited so far. I really like everyone there—they are welcoming, friendly, and professional. Most importantly, the information we received during the visit was helpful and thorough. I was especially impressed with how they handled each of our dogs with such care.

This is an unfortunate review to have to make. I trusted my dogs care with them for a few years. Turns out she had abnormal blood work back in 2024. Her new vet noticed it on her records. This practice neglected to tell me anything was off. When I called today to ask about it, the manager accepted no accountability, blamed me for not answering the phone (I was at work, no information was provided via voice mail, and not a word was said to me in her several visits after the blood work- why would I have to specifically ask for them to tell me the abnormal results of blood work i paid for?). The manager then hung up on me 🙂 again with absolutely no accountability whatsoever. I am frankly disgusted. I left this practice because I felt like they enjoyed my dogs consistent income with her skin and ear issues and didn’t feel they were doing enough for her and this ordeal just shows me that your pet is a dollar sign to them. I really liked the doctor and i do not fault him whatsoever, but the manager here is a cold hearted person who can’t even be bothered to acknowledge any wrongdoing in failing to disclose what ended up being a really important blood result. My dogs condition could have been caught sooner. And to hang up on someone who has spent THOUSANDS at your practice is disgraceful. Genuinely I am so wildly disappointed.
